The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

Well according to sky lyon want to speak to cisse too. I would rather we got a pacey striker in before we let the only striker we have with pace go.

Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson will make Gareth Southgate his new manager - if he can get round Premier League coaching requirements. (Express)

Are they really having a problem getting an experienced manager? I know they've been knocked back by a few people.

Supposedly liverpool are trying to sign pennant with malbranque as a back up should we not be able to get him. Personally I don't want pennant, the lad can't control himself.

Porto have approached Everton in a bid to sign midfielder Andy van der Meyde, offering long-term Toffees target Benni McCarthy in exchange. (Independent)

Interesting. I hope the viduka move to liverpool is just paper talk. Liverpool do not need another striker with no pace.

More rumours on Alves to anfield this morning in the papers. Supposedly the club president has relented and is just waiting on a better than £7M bid and liverpool can have him. Also supposedly Torres to man utd.

A report in todays L'equipe is saying that Marseille have agreed a season long loan deal with Liverpool for Cisse with an option to purchase at the end.

Good bit of business in my opinion as it means he is off our wage bill, allowing us to buy 2 strikers in this window.

If they pay all of his wage that would be good.

Newcastle defender Jean-Alain Boumsong is a target for French side Paris St Germain. (Sun)

Boooooo

On the crouch issue personally i'm not a big fan. IMO if you sign a striker who is going to start most weeks then he needs to get you goals. I don't think he's rubbish he just needs to get more goals. I don't want it to be like when we had heskey and every year it was that 'he had potential to score more goals', 'works so hard for the team' or any other of the cliches that are trotted out. Anyhow its harsh to judge him after just one season for us.

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd will face a struggle to stay in control if ex-owner Sir John Hall sells his 28.8% majority stake in the club. (The Sun)
