what do i need to undervolt the gfx card to get better performance and reduce the heat from the card as i hed some software does not work now
thanks
I've been doing some research and was surprised to read that the Vega 56 will draw less power than my current card - a GTX 780.
Experienced Vega owners, does that sound right to you?
Under load, or idle? Vegas have lots of power saving features, so when it's not gaming, it will reduce power a lot. If you consider that most of the time your PC is on you're doing things other than gaming, then there's a lot of time when the GPU is using very little power.
Mine's currently using 3-4 watts running a browser, desktop, and TV stick.
At stock it can be upto 300w. Most people once they hear about it will undervolt to get same performance but uses less power (~250w *dependent on your settings)
I was thinking max power draw, although the article I was reading didn't state which, it just said "40w less power draw".
Edit: Looking at both card's specs, it seems correct:
Vega 56 TDP = 210w
GTX 780 TDP = 250w
You can change the power available in the drivers, so it can use more/less power, but you can also lower power using features like "chill" to restrict framerates to what you want.
Its a fantastic piece of kit especially if you got it for way under £200. Would pick up another at that price.
It dropped to 1 sometime after, which might still be there if you're quick!
Would have to pick and choose my friend, the wife would notice and it would not be worth the grief but I have my eye on them.
