The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Yeah no i've clean uninstalled and installed all versions of the RX drivers over 20 times at this point and that option is still missing, Frankly starting to think my card is ******. Not working with the drivers like it should or something, As i have loads of other issues aswell.
Also TriX i tried the undervolting thing to no avail the performance stays the same in the heavy areas but slightly worse in the better ones, Any other suggestions ?

HBCC was moved to global section. Have you looked there?

I have and i've yet to see it exist anywhere since knowing it existed as an option, Not in profiles not in wattman not in global, **** be broken. Also back to the undervolting thing, I did notice one thing after a strong undervolt the areas that are acting worse than the 56 stay the same, Almost like the gpu has the strength but just isn't pushing it for some reason. Btw sorry if i'm sounding like a whiny bitch i'm just really starting to get ****** off this isn't what i payed for.

List your settings. What temps are you getting? Keep an eye on the Hotspot which there's been suggestion is located on the Interposer between the HBM and Core from what I've been reading at Overclock.net.

I've been flat out with work lately so haven't got a chance to get on and check. I'll post them up when can.

Are you running Win7, cos I don't see it there, but I do in Win 10

Quite a performance boost from the Day One driver there. Am very impressed AMD! Just look at the Min FPS boost alone!
So I posted this in another forum but I can't recommend 17.10.1 at this point. It introduces frame dips(stutter) which are noticeable while gaming. They are also reflected in synthetic benches, compare the difference in minimum FPS in the images I'm posting below(this was one of my better runs with 17.10.1, some runs dipped as low as 33 or 34). I cleaned and reinstalled numerous times to confirm. I also ran the Shadow of War in-game benchmark and while the FPS was higher overall, there was stutter there as well.

17.9.3

I've gone ahead and opted in to the Fall Creator's update which releases later this month so I'll be testing that some more over the next day. I've noticed some improvements using 17.9.3 in Firestrike/Timespy graphics scores there but would like to run some more benches.

Settled on the following settings in Wattman:

P6 - 900/1537
P7 - 950/1632
HBM - 950/1050
PL - +50%
Fan Speed - 400-2800

Accompanied with a [email protected], this gets around 6700 in Timespy but more importantly full system draw at the wall peaks at around 350W. Vega can be a decent, efficient card with a bit of tweaking. Bodes well for a Vega Nano, should AMD choose to release one.

How did you opt in for the Fall Creator's update ?

You need to be fully current on Windows 10 then join the Windows Insider Program. Just Google it and you'll find a page with all the info you need. You'll need to have or create a Microsoft account. Make sure you read through all the info on the Insider Program page because there are different tiers of testing you can join.

It was just available as an update.

I had to install it before I got the option to download Forza 7.
That's the not the Fall Creators update unless you're already part of the Windows Insider program. You probably updated to 1703. The Fall update is 1709 and doesn't release until October 17th.

Guys, can I borrow your expertise on this what I think is a RX Vega 64 problem I'm having.

Problem: I'm getting a hard crash (full system power off and doesn't POST unless I take the power cord off for at least 30 seconds) when I play XCOM 2 game with War of the Chosen DLC. I've managed to save the game just before the crash happens 100% of the time (in case anyone else wants to test it).

System specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
AMD RX Vega 64
Asus PRIME X370 -PRO
G.SKILL F4-2800C15Q-32GVR
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
1000W PSU (Corsair HX1000i)
Samsung C32HG70 (1440p 144hz Freesync 2) monitor
CPU and GPU are both water cooled, running at a maximum of about 50 degrees of celcius and should not be a heat problem.

What I've tried:
I've tried all levels of graphics settings from the lowest to the maximum - no difference to the crash.
I've tried 2 different AMD Ryzen 7 1800X CPUs and it has no effect.
I've tried different BIOS versions, including the latest 0902 with AGESA 1.0.0.6b.
I've tried with both Windows 10 Pro N-version and Windows 10 Pro versions, but only in 64-bit.
I don't have another AMD RX Vega 64 graphics card or another graphics card for that matter to test if this problem is specific to this individual unit.
I've tried with ALL different available versions of drivers for this graphics card, and it happens with all of them.

Please note:
I'm getting no crashes on any other game, including Witcher 3, Watch Dogs 2, Overwatch, Nier Automata and other modern games. I've also ran Prime 95 and all Unigine benchmarks extended periods of time without any issues.

I bought the RX Vega 64 on the release day Monday 14th of August and got it the next day (15th of August) from Overclockers. I also bought the Liquid cooling for my whole system including EKWB full cover block for the GPU from Overclockers.

If you guys have any ideas how to test the problem further or even solutions to overcome it: I'm all ears! Thanks!
