The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Ordered a LC Vega but I haven’t had one under water or a radiator before, where’s the best place to mount the radiator? I was going to use it as an exhaust, top-left, but it’d be near my CPU heatsink – is that ok?

I could also put it as an exhaust in the top of the case? It just needs to be higher up than the card, is that right?

Sapphire and Gigabyte standard versions now sold out only Powercolor left. Glad i purchased my Gigabyte as soon as the sale went live.

Quick note, limited edition is running low on stock and so are the LCs. Better not wait to long if you're on the fence.

AIB or not, no way the 1070ti is better than the Vega64

I've just bought the powercolor v64 I think Gigabyte would have been my preference for UK Rma., I'm hoping to get it tmrw. I'd say the 1070ti does have some relevance in it's power draw and performance/pcb length enables it to provide vega performance in a itx/sff case. Something Vega fails at. But I've also ordered the Aoc Q3279VWF 32" 1440p so should work nicely with the v64.

Exhuast at the top or rear of the case will work. I recommend putting it wherever is above the card and has the least air restriction.

Should be fine, i removed my rear exhaust fan, and put the radiator in its place, no issues :)

Is there any utility you can use to undervolt/overclock and monitor Vega other than wattman? Wattman keeps crashing all the time. If I make a change and go back into it, it crashes, if I try to increase the window size it crashes. Sometimes without making any changes it crashes.

It probably does, but it doesn't seem to be having much of an affect while im gaming, as had no issue as said, seems fine, i do have a big 200mm fan at the top of the case right above the CPU as well though, which is also pulling air out, and ive got a one on the side as well, but pulling air in, and pushing it over the card, as well as a one on the front, which is also pulling in.

Yep, i jumped on the LC the day the offers went live (Monday) :D

Ok, Today I tried Doom, wanted to see how Vulkan would perform. It wouldn't run when switched to the Vulkan api. Then I realised that my card might not be installed properly. So I was watching Shankly1985's video where he was showing his voltage problems and his values in Wattman were different than mine.

Then I used DDU and uninstalled the AMD drivers and reinstalled the 17.11.2 drivers, but had the same issues. So I used DDU again and this time installed the 17.11.1 drivers and I could start Doom no problem. Then I installed 17.11.2 and again Doom worked fine.

If people are having odd problems and have only installed 17.11.2 drivers, it might be worthwhile to install the 17.11.1 driver first.

My Wattman works properly now, hasn't crashed since. Which has allowed me to do some undervolting. Haven't done much yet. Here are my settings

P6 1537 @1000
P7 1632 @1050
HBM 945 @950
50% power limit

Not sure of fan speed but temps while running Heaven or Superposition hover around the 72 degrees mark. The Frequency is pretty solid at 1560. With these settings I get 1492 in the superposition benchmark using the settings in Kaapstad's thread on here.

Very happy with this. It's much quieter with these settings, performance is great and power use is way down from stock settings.

Pics or it didn't happen :p

Will get one taken and up tomorrow, as got to go out in a bit :( :p

Just been playing a bit of DOOM in Vulkan, on the Nightmare Texture Setting, and everything else maxed as well, was getting around 170/80fps , got the weird white line effect though, but a bit of googling found how to fix that, so will try that tomorrow as well :D
