The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Is a miners card mate flashed with the 250W bios.

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

download this.
Take a screenshot with one bios setting. Turn off the PC. Switch bios. and take a screenshot of the next one.

Post here your GPUZ and Atiflash screenshots :)
OK but even if it is a low power bios you would still be able to increase clocks and take more. All the bios would do is preset everything for you.

No. Bios presides everything. These bios cap the card to 250W. Assuming is not a flashed vega 56 with vega 64 bios.
find the barcode stickers on the card. it should have several

that would be a right dirty low move by the seller doing something like that.
Unfortunately since his card is capped at 250W and couldn't even take the settings I gave him for 234W power cap last night seems right.

At all least Vega 64s are capable to burn 376W worth of power. Even when their cooler is crap like the Strix one.
The performance won't be there, but the power consumption will be :p

@Lokken86 who sold you the card mate? Can you find the MM post in here?

Really I don't think there's any danger of my card being a Vega 56.
The card can actually run at 1600mhz+ I know because if I fully minimise the Firestrike loop it allows the card to cool down, then you can maximise and have it go full whack again and when I do this I get 1600mhz but as the card heats it starts to fall back. It's not a huge deal to me and by all accounts it probably will hold higher clocks in actually games I haven't even tried yet. I was happy at 1550mhz at least it's rock solid and my gpu scores are better then most of the people's ones where they think have a card clocked at 1700mhz when really it's probably throttling to death.

Mate if he sold you a flashed card with mining BIOS this need to be fixed. I can guide you even on skype/raidcall step by step.
That is why asked you to post your BIOS versioning from ATIFlash and GPUZ here. (both BIOS)
Is easy to fix the card if needed.
Also is the reference one, not Red Devil as I thought so that is easy to even flash the Liquid BIOS to it :D

Also you bought a second hand £400 when there is already 2 weeks now the Red Devil offer :(
And please find the stickers on the PCB to confirm is Vega 64 not flashed Vega 56.

@Schizo I know you were involved a lot on that sale

and saw you had complains about the seller. What is your advice?

Yep the red devils were almost £600 and I ended up just a few days before the £450 deals. Such Is life. And anyway I'm getting a 64 for 56 price.

Is a reference card. There are well made and under water work great. I believe someone was looking in here for an MSI Aero to watercool (aka reference board)...
If we sort your card, you might be able to sell it and buy a Red Devil

I'm going to check the bios but I really doubt it's flashed. Some other people get the exact same results I do. The card just won't pull more watts if it's throttling. My only question really is how come it's doing it at only 65c it doesn't seem high to me, but sure enough if I cool the card more clocks go up.

The power settings I gave you yesterday were for 234W tops, yet your card couldn't take it.
Reference Vega can easily burn 370W+
That is why we need to investigate if BIOS is the issue or there is something else. :)

If you do not want to assist you that's OK :) but is kinda shame now we have identified the issue, not resolve it.

Both the bios are from Sapphire vega 64 reference, same as powercolor.

I have noticed in GPU Z it states "Board Power Limit 220 W" Curious as to what others are seeing here. Maybe only seeing spikes to 250w but on average it's probably around 220w right enough. Maybe I should run a bench for a while and looking at the proper average over time.

On the Advances my card is Board Power Limit 240W with +50% so 360W yet I have seen 380W on extreme overclocking.

Your card cannot do 270W atm :(
