The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

@Panos thanks for the info. Will give 1125 a try. I did notice with testing there were certain frequencies that were good and some that weren't above 1100. Same with core frequencies, it's a bit like there are grouped frequencies with a low point and a high point that result in the same performance then 1MHz more and into the low point of the next grouping. It certainly makes Overclocking the bugger fun.

BTW the settings I used I only modified the HBM, the core frequencies were identical to the original release Liquid BIOS. +50% power setting as I haven't tested with a modified PPTable since I reattached the water block.

I noticed a huge benefit from switching to Liquid Metal for cooling the GPU. Getting that heat off the core as fast as possible allowed mine to go stable at 1750Mhz core without issue. With just the normal paste it was just not enough to keep it cool. Used some Hydronaut and AS5 both dried out really quick. As long as you protect the microcomponents around the core with something it's fine.

Oh and I'm running the Liquid BIOS.

Nice run that, 26k is perfection for a vega64 graphic score. Post that up on the firestrike benchmark thread so the leader board can be updated.

Yeah I wrote liquid metal helps greatly the Vega, and experienced it due to a mistake I did with the Bykski waterblock :o having to go back to the Nitro+ heatsink
The performance improved while the temps plummeted by 15C.

Could you please post the image from your Wattman overclock settings?

I saw this headers on the Nitro+ Bios, and I am kinda baffled...

First of all, assuming heat is not issue, is it possible the Vega 64 able to do 2400Mhz?
Second, does anyone knows a way to raise the power cap and the TDC Power over the 300A?
I saw a video of some values for the Soft Table, but if I apply those values, the overlay stops working :( as some values in there are designed for older drivers.

Thought i'd join in the fun again, been a while since I've benched this card. Curious to see how it's been affected by Spectre and Meltdown.....seems not affected at all, in fact, very close to that 27k graphics score now. About a 1.5k improvement in GPU score now, must be driver related as only thing I did was up the HBM to 1125mhz from 1100. It shouldn't improve the score all that much.

Well done my boy, told you, you'd **** 26k. Bit more tweaking and you'll be at 27k.
Get er done :)

wow. can you post the image of wattman please?

Cooking dinner at the moment mate but keep an eye on thread tonight.

Yes, yes you did mate. I'm not really into benching a lot though to be honest. I think 27k might be a OC to far

Could you try a Timespy run also? Because the cpu test doesn't impact the score as much you might have the highest Vega score.

Very nice, I'll have a bit of fun tuning over the next week or so ;)

@Panos - by setting your Mem to 1100mv you are basically setting the core to a minimum of 1100mv too (think of it as a floor voltage rather than mem voltage as it has bugger all to do with mem voltage).

Can I ask a size question please ?

Could anyone who has either sapphire nitro 64 or a strix 64 tell me the the additional height they have over the height of the metal back bracket ? ( the distance from the right angle that you screw to the chassis to the highest point of the card ).

My case is tight height wise and I’m just trying to see if they would fit. Thanks.
