The scared maze kid.

I must say I really laughed at the video. A bit of a fright is great imo. When I was a nipper my Mum used to say:

I may look like your mother...
I may smell like your mother...
But I'm not your mother.
(Then pull some weird face and come after me).

It used scare me to death, but I don't think it's done much damage.

I would be very very surprised if that's a real story. There are more spelling mistakes in that article than you'd find in any other news piece online, so it screams hoax to me.

True or not, its brought to light a darker side of the board. The video made me chuckle, but boy did I feel bad when the filming continued in the face of a balling child who wanted consolidation.

The story calls the videotapers as his folks, but I'm sure the kid says "Chad" - maybe an older brother??
If it was parents, Its bang out of order. For some reason in my head its not so bad if its not parents  . Why is that?

... resorting to the malicious traumatization of a young child is not
the wisest decision that a parent can make.
This was the point I made when this vid was posted here the other day.
It's just totally wrong to treat your kids like that. Is it just me or is anyone else thinking that the attitude that allows parents to behave like this towards their kids is the real problem rather than just this one action?

I call BS - a psychotherapist wouldn't share details of his treatment... The Internet is trying to fool us once more

I'd imagine that if the kid did experience mental problems from such an event, he would have to be pretty unstable in the first place

I think he’ll need a lot more toughening up than that if he wants to survive school being a chub with a crap haircut.

lmao I was thinking exactly the same thing!

I also got angry that he touched the screen leaving greasy finger prints on the screen.

He got a fright, he cried, he would get over it if people would let him. A bit cruel of the parents but it is making people laugh in the office.

thats pretty nasty. ive seen some things like that and forwarded them on, even played a couple to my missus, but that kid was quite clearly petrified. hope he's ok.

makes me think twice about these kinda tricks.

I watched Jaws as a child and was scared half to death by the bit where the guy dives on the wrecked boat and the severed head with the eyeball on a string floats out... after that I firmy believed that jaws lived at the end of my bed and would eat my feet if I streched out my legs at night- ofcourse this would only happen after I turned the light out.
I wonder if I have a case against Spielberg, or some claim on the estate of the recently deceased Mr Benchley for damaging my delicate childish sensibilities and subsequently blighting my life with fear? *yawn* Maybe I could get awarded a plastic bubble to hide in?

rofles :)

as for the child he was waaaay to young to see that, im 22 and that **** scares me ;)

bad parenting yes, but taking away the child is a bit ott

When I was a kid I was scared lots of times by stupid games or dares that my friends and I did on one another. Heck I was scared of the dark for a while too... did I need treatment or post traumatic stress treatment? No! It's rubbish and pathetic. I wish people would get on with their lives rather than sticking their nose in a harmless prank.

Stupid parents . Can't believe they did that to their son.

I agree that the world is a tough place and that kids need to be prepared for it all but children must always be able to feel that their parents represent truth, safety and honesty. It's one thing for them to scare him as a joke but then to laugh and keep on filming when the kid is clearly terrified is a total disgrace. Hope they are feeling suitably remorseful now.

Thats appalling frankly. I cant think of many things more heartbreaking than a crying kid that wants some tlc after hurting them selves/being scared etc and all they get is laughed at and filmed some more.

its fake, checked Reuters and its not there, no reference on google to Jo-ann Durrett either (apart from some colleges and forums) so I'm calling hox too
