The SFF Case Gallery And Specs Thread

no problems guys, you can get the ram out easy only need to undo the clips on this side and the others will release buy them selves

Hi Alfie786, it all depends on what you want out of the build really.

for good ocing the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R or Asus P5K-VM Intel G33 are
both good boards.

but there are newer chip-sets out or coming out now like the nvidia 630i/7100
the only down side from that chip-set is you only get 2 ddr2 slots. but apart from
that the board seems good.

well the 630i is not veryy good for overclocking has no pci-e lock i think i would buy the gigabyte if i had the chioce to buy another as gigabyte boards have always been good for me

I still have my SG03, I ain't using it for the new build though.

Collects dust like nothing on Earth, I swear. And it does it in treble time.

is there any other coolers i can use? something with a bit more umph to cool my quad. i have it clocked upto 3ghz at the moment and its topping out at a massive 85'c prime small fft.

in real use my cpu will never see more than 40-50% on each core so wont go near that temp.

any suggestions? i know the geminII is supposed to fit but thats still passive.

It's tough. You have 78mm to play with under the PSU.

Silverstone's NT06 is designed to use the PSU fan to move air over it, it does a good job, and the NT06 Evolution is due soon, which cools even better.

If you want something active, there's always the Zalman coolers - CNPS8000, CNPS8700. However, they blow air down onto the fins, rather than draw it up. This has the unfortunate side effect of creating a nice pocket of negative pressure between it and the PSU, increasing temperatures.

It's possible to mod the fan to spin the other way - i've seen it, but now how it was done.

well i have the nt06 in there and its okay, i mean in real games its not going to go over 70, i guess in such a small case im limited to their own coolers.

the geminII is a waste as its only the same area of fins that are gettin the hot air drawn away.

i'll just stick with this tbh. its nice a silent and ive got 3gig was planning on stock but any mhz over is a bonus :D

I like the look of that LG burner in a black case. Is there a silver equivalent burner that looks as good by any manufacturer? I could try and source a Cooler Master stick on bezel replacements if they are still made.

to be honest mate that drive looks nice in any pc although ive noticed i have a scratch on mine. i think there is a lack of decent silver drives, i guess you could use a blanking plate and make your own or try source one from somewhere.

the case isnt as good quality as i thought it would be the back and side panels were a lot thinner than i thought but overall its a very nice case.

You can always turn the psu around in the sugo's, ive done this in mine , lowers temps all round.
