The SFF Case Gallery And Specs Thread

Slowly updating my old system. And for anyone looking at newer ITX sized graphic cards.

Palit's Geforce RTX 3050 StormX installed in a Silverstone SG-05 case. The cooler shroud is longer than the PCB by either 22 or 23mm.

Any chance you can check exactly how long the card (including the shroud) is to the mm. I'm looking at buying this GPU when its back in stock, but just worried it might be too long. I have 174mm to work with, and this is listed as 170mm, but I'm hoping they haven't rounded it down to the nearest cm.

Measuring from the outside edge of PCI bracket to the outside edge of fan shroud I was getting 169 to 170mm, so to allow my my errors I would go with manufacturers specification of 170mm long for complete graphics card.

Edit: By default the Palit logo is illuminated white. I thought it might not turn on unless have Thundermaster tool installed. Not sure its worth installing it just to turn lighting off.

Thank you for that. I'll have about 5 mm left, before a fan I have installed in the case. Worse case, I can move the fan down, but it took me hours to get it installed and look nice.

You might be able to control the RGB lights (including turing them off) via other 3rd party software, like that of your motherboard. I hate lights as well.

Picked up a battered Alpha R1 for £60, without memory and CPU. Had an SSD which wasn't listed, so that was a plus.
i7 4765T, 16gb DDR3 installed and some mild repairs on the top case and it's working pretty well given it's advancing age.
I've been using a 5th gen NUC for RetroArch in the living room, but might install Lakka on here and swap it out.

Fancied a change after a couple of recent NR200 builds, so decided on the Meshlicious for my new development and gaming rig. Spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon assembling this with my daughter (well it was pleasant for me anyway, and she did offer to help).

Notes:
  • Replaced the thermal compound on the Phantek with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.
  • GPU mount was raised to the highest position, to give maximum space for video cables beneath.
  • AIO pump connected to pump header / AIO fans connection to CPU header.
  • Pump was noisy to begin with, presumably running at 100% by default, so applied the "smart" fan curve option for both the pump and fans in the MSI bios, and it was pretty much silent from then on.
  • For some reason my keyboard isn't always recognised at Windows startup (but is by the BIOS). Still looking into that.
Some temps:

Ambient ~22°C
Idle min
Load max (Heaven 4.0 @ 15 minutes)
CPU
~23°C
~62°C
GPU
~40°C
~65°C

Pretty happy with that. It went together really well, and temperatures are better than I expected. I figure the keyboard issue might be something around USB hand-off in the BIOS (but would appreciate any suggestions!).

Main headliner specs are a 5900X combined with a RTX 3090FE.

Doing some bench testing at the moment outside of the case and judging by temps I definitely need to add a couple of 120mm slim fans in the bottom.
