The Sims 4

Also Sims games have mental issues when it comes to windows 64 bit, sometimes it works fine, other times it spits it's dummy out and throws all it's toys outta the pram.

Love The Sims but the overpriced DLC just killed it for me,How people can justify paying this much..its just silly.

I hate the way games are going these days with DLC.

i used to play sims 1 and 2. great games they were, now i find myself not having time to play them. hope the principles of the game are still the same.

Actually, by buying during sales I got the entire Sims 2 collection recently for £40, which is not bad for the time you are likely to spend on it. Of course if you compare it to the prices on much more recent games in the Steam sale it does seem a bit much.

I enjoyed the sims 3 and on the fence as to whether i will buy 4, I dont have a problem with DLC as long as it's reasonably priced and adds a decent amount of content. I just don't like the way EA is going with premium and the stupidly high costs £50 or £60 to pre order it now.

If this "premium membership" thing includes all DLC then I can see it being worthwhile for fans of the series. Typical EA though...

I doubt you'll get the expansions for free, maybe a stuff pack now and again and some random exclusive items as the screenshot suggests. It just sounds like they are turning it into a complete cash cow, which I didn't think was possible after how bad for that Sims 3 was :p The toddler and pool thing for instance. If they wanted those in for free they would have, instead they'll appear as a DLC in the future. In fact they might have been in the game already but they've been stripped out for that purpose.

That's one incredible list (in a bad way). Couldn't believe that most of that won't be in. On top of all that EA have said no reviewer is getting a copy ahead of release date so I doubt we'll be seeing reviews until a couple of days after release. I'm guessing so it doesn't get 30% on Metacritic and no one buys it :p

By the look of that list it would be quicker to list what IS in the game! What a shame :(

Im not keen on the, what appears to be, cutting of features for future expansions

However my girlfriend still wants it!

She had sims 3 and all the addons however its fairly badly optimised i think and is starting to slow down

However the create a sim demo for 4 runs really well, loads instantly etc

So is that enough to assume the full game will run better for her than sims 3 does now? I know its a very basic slice of the game but it seems to be optimised much better and seems less demanding

Shes on a laptop of average spec i suppose

I would say yes, The Sims 3 is badly optimised but the majority of it was down to the 'open world' type gameplay. They removed this in Sims 4, it now has like a map then you select where you want your Sim to go, so it will more then likely run a lot better.

This is what has bugged me, why remove a very good feature for Sims type of gameplay and replace it with what they had in the Sims 2, they should have optimised it properly instead of being the typical lazy EA, my girlfriend still wants the game & I won't be bothering, I only build lots anyway and can't be dealing with 300 loading screens when I want to move from 1 place to the next.
