@LostCorpse Hope you are ok after your trip into the GPU section of the forum? :p You made a rookie error, mentioning AMD's drivers problems in that section of the forum gets a very bad reaction!! They really came down hard on you.

The truth is that both Nvidia and AMD have small driver issues from time to time. The problem with AMD is that it takes them quite a while to iron problems with their drivers when they first launch a GPU. RDNA 1 had black screen issues that took them ages to fix. RDNA 2 drivers were great from the get go. RDNA 3 however, had idle power problems and massive performance issues in VR. It took them 8/9 months to fix these problems.

AMD are a lot better than they were and I wouldn't let drivers stop you from buying one of their cards. Even if they do have problems, you are pretty sure these days that they will fix them. It's not like years ago when AMD might never fix an issue with their graphic card drivers.

@melmac my thereapist said it would be good to branch out and make new friends, i think its going pretty well to be honest.
i learning a fair bit and my name is only mud instead of that pond scum water at the bottom of the river. im getting a few thumbs up and being quoted which are all positive signs!
i think they're warming up to me tbh, give it 2months and i'll have them eating out of my hands or your money back

tbh honest im more likely yo get an AMD card than NVidia at the moment cost vs spec if for no other reason. but first i have to have the free capital to actuall buy one :/
edit : plus linux better support, as im looking to make a move in that direction.

As I always say to anyone who asks advice. Pick a budget and buy the best card you can within that budget, doesn't matter the brand.

Do it, do it, do it. You won't regret it. Well you might but at least you won't be tied to Micros**** :p. I've been happily gaming on Linux for coming up to 8 years now and support is getting better all the time :),
