The Sony A73/A7R3/A7S3/A9 Thread

No problems. It's always worth asking. I got £50 to £100 off every lens except the pre order on the tamron. I didn't buy them all from LCE, got some from park and some from wex. Even managed to get £100 off the a7iii body from LCE and £100 off the Sony za 55mm f1.8 and they were the only two things I bought from them on an order that day. LCE were giving an extra years sony warranty free on the body as well.

Maybe they gave me good prices because I asked them to price up about 5 lens but none of them seem to mind me picking and mixing and honoured the individual price they gave me for each lens.

It was Dean at Derby I dealt with. Here was his quote

As regards the equipment you are after.

Please don't hesitate to call if you would like any further information.

Kind Regards

Hobby  so non serious amatuer

No worries me too, it's my major hobby and I spend significant amounts on it, but just wondered if you did any paid work too considering how much you got in a short time. :)

Does it matter? :)
I was genuinely curious for honest reasons, so why don't you just wait and let him answer instead of reading negative connotations into things you are only making wrong assumptions about? :)

No paid Work, just do it for fun. Some people spend on cars for me it's photography.

I could afford to buy all this as sold my extensive Olympus collection for just over £7k. Everything sold within a week so I may have even sold it all too cheaply lol.

I now currently have fewer lens which isn't a bad thing since the Sony lens are heavier and some are bigger. Still missing an ultra wide angle astro lens but will get that next month.

The really daft thing is that a month ago I wasn't even thinking about swapping and had just bought Two new lens for the Olympus and ended up selling them without ever using them. Luckily both sold for a profit. In fact because I had bought most my lens second hand for the Olympus I got my money back on everything except the body and extra batteries. Figured I have lost about £600 from owning the em1 mark ii and lens so not bad for 18 months ownership

So it has so far been a zero cost swap. Will end up being about an extra grand by the time I have finished.

Was impressed I managed to get £50 to £100 off everything even though it was only just out. That and the £380 cashback I'll get next month from Sony helps. Plus got another £100 topcashback on my purchases.

Time will tell whether it's been the right decision. There are things already I am missing from the Olympus such as never having to sensor clean and the live composite mode and especially the waterproofing. I could just wash the Olympus off under the tap on bad days. Now I have to be extra careful with the Sony. Sony really needs to up their game on weatherproofing. It's appallingly bad for what the bodies and lens cost.
