Ok People

Anymore for anymore?

I'm planning on going to the bowling alley at lunchtime and putting down the deposit so before I part with my cash, I wan't to make sure I'm booking for 19 and not less.

So if you are going to blow us out then let me know NOW!

:)

Good, good

Working from memory the only people I haven't heard from for a while are Kingpin and Wozzizname. Unfortunately due to the trust being down I can't email them direct, so if anyone knows them or has an email address for them then could you give them a nudge for me :)

Maybe Freefaller has a way of contacting them being a higher power and all that :)

oops is it too late to change now :p

lol, altered corpse says that he MAY come! he is not definitely sure!

and on that note there is a possibility of me bringing someone else along ;) but if that happened, i wouldnt be coming out of my hotel room on friday or saturday ;)

Its not too late to join!

What it will be is too late for is people to drop out and leave us with less than 19, thats why I want to get the stragglers cleared up and confirmed.

What I am thinking is that we could at the moment cope with about 24 over the 4 lanes however because its a weekend I am thinking if we need an extra lane i.e. we have more than 24 I should book it now rather than wait till the day.

We can take as many as want to come but the nearer we get to the date the less likey of securing a 5th lane

I'll book for 4 lanes for 19 this arvo and we'll take it from there.

As I said before I wan't to get things sorted out in advance so I can get drunk without the worry of things going breasts up on the day. :)

Thank you too all those people who are on the decision pending list and have replied to Freefallers email, I have updated the list of attendees in the first post of the thread. Those who hope to make it but can't decide till nearer the time please do not worry, even if you let us know the day before then that will be fine.

I have drafted H (Mrs MB) in to make us up to 20 (although she doesn't know this yet ;)) and have booked 4 lanes for 5 people per lane.

Those who still need to make hotel arrangements if there are any, just post here or drop me a line.

Exactly a month to go now :)

We need to start thinking about booking somewhere to eat soon, so could you please let me know what you would prefer.

We currently have Nando's, Hons Palace and Old Orleans (details on first post of this thread) as the prime candidates, so unless you have really stong feelings about one of the other places listed maybe we should foucus on your choices out of those?

If you let me know which you would prefer I will add it next to your name on the front page.

In a weeks time we will make a judgement call as to whether to split into two groups or stick together.

Hope thats all OK.

They do do loads of cocktails and you can go and order drinks directly from the bar so we won't have to worry about a drinks tab, only food.

Which reminds me, I need a volunteer for the only thing I don't want to have to organise. Its a pain in the butt and needs some authority so maybe Will Gill Feek or Freefaller will step up? I hate sorting out the food tab, its always a bone of contention and someone starts acting up who didn't have pudding or picked a cheap main course. Its OK if we want to do a straight split 20ish ways but it never seems to work out like that.

I'm sure there won't be an issue but all the same, whos going to look after this for me?

On a lighter note I remember they do this cocktail :)

Flaming Lamborghini
Ingredients:

* 1 oz Kahlua
* 1 oz Sambuca
* 1 oz Blue Curacao
* 1 oz Bailey's irish cream

Mixing instructions:

Pour the Sambuca and Kahlua into the Cocktail Glass and give the drinker a straw. Pour the Baileys and Blue Curacao into two sepsrate shot glasses either side of the cocktail glass. Set light the concotion in the cocktail glass and start to drink through the straw (this drink should be drunk in one) , as the bottom of the glass is reached put out the fire by pouring the Baileys and Blue Curacao into the cocktail glass and keep drinking till it's all gone!!

Oh dear god it's going to get very very messy :eek: !!!

Food bill wise .. unless anyone posts otherwise just split it however many ways :)

[shiver down spine]

I've been to so many evenings where that was the original plan until it gets to the end and everyone is drunk, then bingo somebody winges and it all kicks off.

If everyone signs up to it thats fine, but I don't want some salad muncher eyeing my full platter and spending the eveing resenting that they are paying over the odds because I'm a chubby ;)

I want a policy on a tip as well :mad: I've ended up lashing £20 before because people are too tight to look after the staff. Unless they auto add the service charge which then confusses people evern more because they think they have paid their share i.e. the cost of their food.

I'm getting this out of the way now so I don't get all worried on the night ;)

Typical woman :p Say they don't care, wait for others to choose and then pick the opposite :) Or worse, wait until you are there and then start moaning that isn't what they wanted to do.

Oi! :mad:

Actually I didn't ask her in initially because I didn't think it was fair that we as hosts voted. She asked where we were going and I said there was a vote and she actually said that she wasn't bothered but out of the three probably Nandos. I'm pretty sure then reason she said Nandos is because it fits very well with the diet that I am doing at the moment and it would have been more affordable for everyone (shes pretty altruistic anyway). So be nice or she'll beat the **** out of you! Shes more than happy to go to Old Orleans and the chances of her moaning when she is eating (she increadably unfussy) are zero.

Be nice to her shes pretty quiet and meeting all you lot is going to be a bit overwealming anyway, I found the Swansea do overwhelming and I'm not quiet!

I think we should also pay for MB's share for organising it all. :) Hopefully that'll mean he doesn't go for the £200 menu! :p

That will not be nessessary but its a kind thought, just buy the misses and me a bottle of wine at Old Orleans or something. As I said before I'm enjoying orgainising it and it no real hardship :)

Money wise I would say that £200 of the weekend would be about right.

My estimate is

Friday Night
Meal at The Rampant Rabbit £10-15
Friday Night Club entry £5
Evenings drinks £25

Saturday
Breakfast (included in hotel price/ you might get a bacon sandwich if your staying at mine)
Lunch £7
Bowling £15
Drinks for the day £10
Evening meal £20
Evening drinks £25

Look at be about £120 then but add 75% for excessive behaviour, buying rounds for the less fortunate, playing video games, breaking things, on the spot fines and just being silly with then I reckon Freefaller is about spot on :)

reckon I spent about £200 at Swansea and I was chucking it about a bit.

MB Old Orleans is perfectly fine for your diet as i have eaten there as well on the same diet and they are more than happy enough to change itmes on the food being ordered to suit your requirements.

If you need more info drop us an email and i will explain further.

Also the waiters and waitresses at Old Orleans take drinks orders at the table as part of the service so no need to fight your way to the bar, as it gets popular at the bar on nights due to being right next door to some of Maidstone night clubs. As people start out there then move on.

SCM

Hi SCM

Do you mean that they will take drinks orders, not for the bill but cash for the drink at the time?

And I don't think we'll need to worry about the diet for the meet ;). It will be the first day off before I start on my new gym and complex carb program (Body for Life). so all restrictions are off for the weekend :)

I know what you mean about the clubs, I hate the Lockmeadow clubs with a passion and the place does gat crammed with idiots pre Icon and Jumping Jacks.

Really looking forward to this, and not just for the food :)
