Well a big up yours to National Rail journey planner - a quick bit of sprinting at Victoria and Clapham saw me get home an hour earlier than scheduled - thanks to Berzerker for letting me check the times on his laptop.
A big thanks of course to MB for not only organising the event (very well planned location/timing wise) but also braving the wrath of drunken forum members - some of whom he'd never met before - invading his house. Thumbs up to the lovely Heather too for not only putting up with a bunch of rowdy strangers from The Internet(TM) but also joining in the festivities. Below are some random musings in no particular order:
I think the comedy highlight for me was Desmo's alchohol/helium-induced singing - literally ROFL, as I'm sure Freefaller would agree. Expect to see the video on sale soon at a merseyside car boot sale.
Octagon's
dancing on the machine really had to be seen to be believed. At the start some kid was watching but his dad soon shephered him away for fear of him being corrupted
Bowling was quite good I thought as it broke up the day well and gave something a bit different than just sat round a table in a pub or whatever. Also created the medal-giving at the meal later so was definitely worth it.
The Rampant Rabbit was excellent - perfect location, nice rooms, helpful and friendly manager, good food.
New Orleans was also pretty good - quite cramped round the table but a good atmosphere and good natured staff who let us do pretty much what we wanted (even the slightly less-than-straight ones!). Some pretty 'interesting' views as well.
The club was OK, cheap drinks although for some reason nearly all of us got asked for ID (the youngest amongst us being 22). There was more talent on display (in more ways than one) at the restaurant the next day though! Wasn't really a 'huge one' as people were getting to know each other, getting drunk and just having a bit of a laugh. I think a couple of people found it hard due to the volume of music and wanting to talk to new faces a bit more being the first night, but with the poor standard of Maidstone clubs on Saturday's left little choice but to go on Friday I think.
Not much needs to be said about Saturday night's at MBs house, more footage will be available in due course. Luckily I think Matt was too drunk to notice his wife take me upstairs to stroke her pussy
All in all I thought it was a really enjoyable weekend, a good mix of personalities with a few LOUDMOUTHs to keep things flowing along - even the quieter members (myself included) seemed thoroughly decent people to chat with. No problems at all with money, everyone paid their way etc and things just went smoothly.
p.s:
ONLY 363* MORE SLEEPS TO GO!
*Probably more like 200 in the case of the Pigmo entity
