Exactly - I can't do a supermarket run, restaurant/pub visit, school run or weekend football drive without someone asking me about the PS2

They maybe selling all their capacity, and, more exposed to the chip shortage (given architecture versus id3/m3 mcu use), so paying lip service to test-drives
- still haven't seen one/p2 in N Cambridge, but, proximity of a service station would still be part of a new purchase citeria (parents near norwich now well placed for tesla)
 
Unlikely, but has anyone test driven cars with the 18" aeros and 19" sport wheels back to back?

If so, what differences did you notice with regards to noise, comfort etc?

Not test driven but my car came with the 18” wheels and I swapped them out for the 19” Sport wheels. The ride was slightly firmer and slightly louder (may have also been affected by my 18” tyres having the foam in them versus my 19” tyres not).

Thanks! I assume you don’t regret changing them?

I am very tempted to get the sport wheels instead because they look really good with the grey paint, however logic says the 18” wheels are “better” in every way apart from looks.
 
So... I blacked out all the chrome logos on the M3 last night, using plasti dip. Looks ace, although I forgot to take a finished photo today :rolleyes:. First time doing this and it was surprisingly satisfying peeling off the rubber film when it dried.

Full stealth ftw.



Also had 2x Easee Home chargers installed on the weekend. Loving the simplistic design and the load sharing ability means that if the mrs gets an EV the system will prioritise the first car on the network OR the car with the lowest charge, whichever is greater. They can be daisy chained so you can run both off a single circuit, although I went for 2 separate circuits to minimise cables in/out of the fence and increased powah.

With Octopus Go it cost me £1.81 to charge from 49% to 82% overnight last night :cry:

 
Next on my list of upgrades is definitely battery storage for the home. The feed-in-tariff payments I get for solar are 4-5x higher than I pay for my tariff, so if I can store some of this to keep for charging then I'll be using almost no electricity from the grid and getting £1500-2000 a year in payments for the stuff I don't keep :eek:

You're right though... I can't see any of the tariffs going that low ever again.

I've been making the most of our new battery by exporting when the Agile rates are paying silly money per kWh, if this keeps up it will have paid for itself in 18-24 months. Although I'm not sure how long Octopus will allow me to stay on the split tariff as it is not supposed to be allowed.

Not at all. I tried to like the Aero wheels (and they’re not bad in motion) but couldn’t. Even with the covers off, they just looked small.

Thanks :) I think I'm going to change my order to include the 19" sport wheels, but I have to decide whether to keep the white interior or not. Throwing £3700 worth of options at a Model 3 isn't super sensible.

Is that the Rimetrix Orbital covers? I ended up going for replica 19" Sports wheels. Even better, they are replicas of the v1 Sport wheels, not the flatter v2 you get with the current Model 3s.

Yup, I couldn't be happier with the Orbital covers.

I went for the aero wheels initially because I didn't want to pay the extra £1000 for the sports wheels knowing that I'd want to powder coat them black in future and that'd be extra cost. I also figured that if I was going to change after delivery day I would use the rubber on the 18" wheels and change to a larger size when the tyres were worn (to save shelving perfectly good tyres). Tbh, unless a set of the sports wheels comes up on ebay for a cracking price, I foresee sticking with 18" though :)

It's all personal preference at the end of the day. The place I bought those wheels from also sell them in black and anthracite.

How easy was Plasti-dipping the badges? Does the overspray come off easy enough. I just have covers over my badges. The front is okay but the rear one shows a slight bit of the silver badge underneath because of the curvature of the boot lid.

Super simple! Make sure you cover everything around the badge (no need to go mad) but the less overspray you get on the rest of the car, the easier it is.

I put a square of masking tape around the badge then did about 4/5 layers of plasti dip. Once it was dry, lift the tape and the plasti dip comes up with it.

I’d describe it feeling like the rubber of a deflated balloon… it just peels up off the paint (leaving no residue), just have to be careful when you get to the badge itself and use a cocktail stick to pull out the tricky bits (between the top of the T and the over arching piece).
