Yeah you got me. . . Walked into that one

Well the 'meta' on OCUK is to claim YouTubers are shills if they say something you don't like. Linus gets it all the time despite reguarly sh!tting on Nvidia, Intel and AMD.

Steve seems to be (I guess rightfully) above this hot take, as such it's ridiculous to claim he's a shill. I even added a smiley face for emphesis.

So yeah, I say I got you. :D

I'm not really getting your point. What is the issue with lifting the review embargo 24 hours before they are on sale as Nvidia have done for recent launches? It would be fair for all the reviewers and the customer would have enough time to look at number of reviews.
There was so little stock of CPUs (check the queue numbers being posted), looking at reviews would reduce you're chance of obtaining one.
I'm not sure why AMD persist in doing this, especially when have an excellent product.

That in bold is the only worthy complaint.

He's not afraid to give Nvidia a kicking over the 3090/reviewer backhanders thats for sure.
That's a very low bar to jump over when everyone else was already saying the same thing. It would behoove you to provide something that he and only he has done specifically to rebuke Nvidia and their underhanded ways. He only follows the trend and some of you eat it up like he's some sort of deity.

And I will double down and say that he will portray the RX 6000 series as being a second rate video card when compared to ampere. And, will never have a rx6000 box art in the background in future videos.

However, I will be delighted if I'm wrong.
:p

I dont usually bite, however, I couldnt naively let somebody **** tech jesus off. Even if he was nasty to me on a youtube comment once :(

And by nasty, i mean he slagged off my blower cooler when i mentioned that with an undervolt you can get it to a very tolerable audible level. took me a while to get over that one. .

How on earth is Steve of GN a shill? He goes into incredible detail on how he gets his results. Explains deeply, and to my eyes can replicate those results with everything on show, even in a live show when overclocking. He thinks nvidia are taking the pee with pricing and performance, so that makes him a shill?

i think there was some sort of issue with rtx boxes placement in past, thought it blew over. hes ok imo, watch most of his vids, way to mch detail to absorb for those average joes like myself:)

As I am sure you have seen Proshop in Denmark (not a competitor right as they won't ship to the UK at the moment) put out the following info about their AMD deliveries:

You are absolutely right there will be very, very few cards available. As it looks now, we get together for launch:
200 x RX 6800 AMD reference boards
90 x RX 6800 XT AMD reference boards
- When the AIB cards come from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Powercolor etc, I fear we see very, very few cards and the whole delivery situation will not look good there either ....

Thats 290 cards compared to the still pathetic hundreds of 3070s and 3080s available on the first day, for all of Scandinavia.
Doesn't sound like it will be any better than the NVIDIA launch, perhaps worse.

You don't know what the availability will be on the launch day that is still some 8 days from now!

Just tried the biggest Internet retailer in the world for the X Series: "Currently unavailable."

Oh, the irony. :D
Amazing isn't it. No GPUs, no CPUs, no consoles.

Everything is completely sold out and back-ordered up the wazzoo.

It's completely unprecendented.
