FidelityFX Super Sampling :)

AMDS answer to DLSS
Ah, I thought it was that, but in my head it was Super Resolution for some reason. Also I thought that was far away from release. Look forward to seeing how it performs. I am hoping for something that works across the board and not like DLSS which works in a handful of games per year.

It is half of what they produced and sold. :)

The guy overclocked it so somehow it killed it. Maybe a bug in the overclocking software putting too much voltage in or just a bad card. There is always a 5%-7% failure rate for most electronics. If we start getting lots of dead cards then it could be a problem similar to the early 'space invaders' Ampere cards.

Wow that is first 6800 XT card death reported after played games for few hours then black screen.

Navi 21 6800 series could see higher failure rate than Navi 10 5700 series.

Seemed AMD never resolved black screen issues on Navi 10 and now it happened again on Navi 21.

So pushing the card to the max and he breaks it and its AMDs fault? You can not make this up! LOL

You know AMD have decent GPUs when fanboys go searching for anything to have a dig.

Yes OVERCLOCKING A GPU YOU RUN THE RISK OF DAMAGE! ITS WITH YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

NEVER JUST PUSH A GPU TO ITS MAX AND SEE HOW IT DOES!

You should always increase it bit by bit to find its weak point!!

I see AthlonXP is also back trolling AMD threads. A true mental case. AMD must not have used lube.

We need to create a Troll of Honor thread.. :p
You sir might end up being a candidate if that happens. After all those posts about going with a 6800 and ending up with a 3090..

TROLOLOLO :D

Just pulling your leg mate ;)

Looking at that reddit post, seems like the dude was unlucky and got a defective card, it happens with all makers and brands, and skus. sometimes **** happens, it just sucks since it coincides with the supply issue.
Hardly a reason to say X brand sucks, because 1 card died.
But I guess it's a slow weekend for some people

Yeah. It is silly. All manufacturers cards break for a varied reasons.

Ahhh well. It may be the case if you can get stock of one, will be a bit miffed if they are at or near the reference prices. If they are gouged though or likely another 3080 repeat, I wont be bothered. It just cements your waiting till 2021 for things to settle then thats more waiting and not enjoying the hobby right (4k brother)?

Nvidia Confirms Some RTX 2080 Ti GPUs Are Defective, Promises Remedy - ExtremeTech

"Two weeks ago, we wrote a story about repeated reports of RTX 2080 Ti failures and how those failures were piling up and making waves on Reddit and Nvidia’s own forums. At the time, we told you that Nvidia’s official guidance was that there was no GPU problem. That guidance has changed, thanks to additional problem analysis."

if you only count the ones that failed that's a failure rate of 100%.

Yeah, the stock situation sucks. But just look at Jedi, he managed to buy sell scalp, buy sell scalp all the time with no issues :p
