Come on Humbug.... You are better than that. Plus how can you be saying stuff like that when you went a bought a 5700XT to then sell it to buy a 2070S?

Things are never just as black and white as that. Everyone has individual needs, there is no right and wrong card. Silly thing to say imo.

I did, you're making the same mistake.

DXR is supported on xBox, so is DirectML. AMD and MS are working on a version of DLSS called super resolution for DXR games on xbox and windows.
Again posting wrong information. The console use dxr 1.1 an implementation developed by amd/ms which is a departure from nvidia implementation. No different then how different asynchronous compute is implemented differently between Radeon and GeForce.

Buyers remorse? Both poor purchases (in late 2020 anyway)? ;)

@TNA the consoles have 16GB VRam, they run RDNA2, they run DXR, not RTX.

O god thats so ill informed. @TNA The xbox does not have any vRAM, its a trap. Memory. 16GB GDDR6 w/320 bit-wide bus. The main memory is shared with the GPU. In terms of how the memory is allocated, games get a total of 13.5GB in total, which encompasses all 10GB of GPU optimal memory and 3.5GB of standard memory. This leaves 2.5GB of GDDR6 memory from the slower pool for the operating system and the front-end shell.

Make him google it because he playing stupid. DirectX 12 Ultimate, largely unifies Windows PCs with the upcoming Xbox Series X platform. DXR (DirectX Ray Tracing)

He knows all this.

Yeah. Cracks me up. Did not know he was this far gone. He has shown so much bias in the past few posts it's unreal.

I tell him the three most anticipated games I want are Nvidia titles. I tell him I have G-sync panels. I tell him I game at 4k. I tell him I got my 3080FE for under £600.

He tells me I made a mistake...

There is none, DXR is DX12u. Nvidia 20 series cards were design to support it. RTX is just Nvidia's platform for RT. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/rtx/ RTX is the platform (hardware) and DXR is the DX12u software. https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/announcing-directx-12-ultimate/

RTX is Nvidia's own libraries designed to run on their own cards, as you keep pointing out RTX run like a bath tub on RDNA2, the consoles run RDNA2, RTX isn't getting anywhere near that.

Didn't one of the developers also say Nvidia need to do more work before they are DXR ready?

You bought the wrong screen too.

You bought the wrong screen too.
That was over 3 years ago. AMD had nothing to offer at 4K. How is that a mistake?

Keep digging :)

All this from a guy who bought a 5700XT and sold it to get a 2070S. Was that a mistake mate? :D:D:D PMSL

Things are not as black and white as you make it, you know this. But you keep digging. I don't get it.

PMSL, its not looking good for him. :D

Time for a new screen, you're locked into gimped GPU's with it.

RTX is nvidia's hardware platform. DXR = DX12u which is how game access the RTX platform. Control is a DX12u game which means it uses DXR. The 20 series gpu's were the first to support DXR in hardware on the PC. DX12u unifies Windows PCs with the upcoming Xbox Series X platform.

Both turing and RDNA2 suport DXR 1.1 https://www.techpowerup.com/271484/...eature-level-12-2-turing-and-rdna2-support-it

Currently, NVIDIA's "Turing" based GeForce RTX 20-series are the only GPUs capable of feature-level 12_2. Microsoft announced that AMD's upcoming RDNA2 architecture supports 12_2, too.

Dig some more :D

All this from a guy who does not even want to spend the cash to buy a bloody 6800XT which he hype trained to the moon and back.

What does my buying power have to do with anything?
