Where I am, it's very premium indeed - so premium you have to wait almost 5 months

Yeah that looks super-confident of AMD. I am happy about how they have been able to turn the ship around from a potential bankruptcy to a market leading premium position. AMD is winning this hands down. First Intel now Nvidia. Great job all around.

That's a confident move from AMD. AMD is now becoming the premium brand. Kudos to Dr Lisa Su

Maybe they think they can charge such prices but I for one will not be buying. Will wait a few months and buy a second hand card just so none of these companies gets my money. It only encourages them to put prices up if people keep biting.

AMD has become nvidia, whos going to pay 800$ msrp for a red devil, scrap that plenty will pay it i rather wait and switch to nvidia, no value in AMD any more

You can sell the copper radiator later and get back half of the money.
Tbh the red devil is the best well made card so it can cost 20$-30$ than the rest. But they all should cost 200$ less.
And Nvidia should cost half since it is such a bad card. :)

I posted a review with the 6800xt overclock performance that shows 4% speed increase.

Exactly, all that extra clock and 4% increase. People were moaning about Ampere not clocking well and might aswell just undervolt it, even that overclocked does around 4%.

And the 6800XT and 3080 but eat power to be fair.

And on the subject of launch, let's just set this straight, the 6800XT launch WAS for a fact worst than the 3080, much more people got 3080s. There was availability daily (in small quantities yes)

The rtx 3080 is a watt monster. 450 watt power limits and extreme overclocks when power modded hit 650 watts. It's all those cores.

It is 4% now but remember, fine wine & all that crap. I think it will be more in the future.
And yes Nvidia sold at least 20 times more cards so far. Maybe 50 times.

$800 isn't the MSRP.

People are failing to see why these prices are inflated across the board. Focusing on AMD AIB card prices which you can't even buy.

My stock alerts today are pinging me for 3070's at £600-660 for god sake :D

Some custom boards have insane power limits.

So it seems both the 6800XT and 3080's are both power hungry. There isn't much to say one is better if you want to use less power than the other, as they're both eating power unless you undervolt them.

If you wanted to save the environment you'd not be buying either cards.
