I dont have this cyberpuke game and wont have either as its its not my kind of thing.
But from the screen shots and high res youtubes i have seen of it, well it looks flipping rubbish with or without DLSS or RT.

In fact it looks like a tarted up GTA.

Short videos probably better.

Probably but I don't have any recording software installed and I'm just using a 3770k. I know Geforce Experience offers recording, but I always stick to the bloat free clean drivers. CohhCarnage however has a decent Youtube playthrough recorded from Twitch, but again it's hard to appreciate the RT effects unless you are in control. He's using 1440p, everything maxed and DLSS Quality also. I like to enjoy the game first and watch some Youtube afterwards to see what I missed or even a different play style.

Personaly I play steathy using non lethal take downs, before gathering my victims together, shooting them in the head and dumping the bodies in the refuse bins or even the available fridge. Cohh takes a more direct approach at times. There is exciting action from 20:30 onwards.

That is a matter of taste. I think GTA looked awesome for that time and CP looks awesome with or without RT, the look fits well with the futuristic world. There are other problems with the game, not how it looks.
Sure i think it could have been done with less hardware resources ( even the RT bling ) but it looks pretty well.

Just a few random that I took earlier without looking for anything special. This is at 1440p, DLSS Quality(1080p super sampled) and RT Phsyco. That means I could be playing at 1080p without DLSS with the same FPS. I get 45 - capped 60 with my 3080 installed in an ancient PC : 3770k, 32GB DDR3 and STAT3 SSDs.

I find the RT version very natural looking, while the refuse bags especially look out of place in legacy mode. Again we can see pre baked shadow in legacy mode that should not be there. There is quite a change in lighting between the two.

In RT mode we get proper soft shadows and nice lighting on the concrete walls. Legacy puts rather odd shadow below the NPC and overall lacks lighting detail. Some nice reflections with RT increasing immersion.

Glass doors that show detail of the area behind that I've just came from, while carrying a victim. I'm a tidy killer :) It's worth noting the lighting on the walls through the doors is corrent in the RT version where as the non RT is more random. It's very noticeable when moving through the area. Can you make sense of the RT version?

I don't know why you keep trying to have a dig at Nvidia when you know that Apple, AMD, Intel and Microsoft are all investing in RT. It's just Nvidia are in the lead at the moment.
The negative feedback from your pics only reinforces what I've already told you. The inaccuracies, inconsistencies, performance penalty, etc. Really demonstrate how irrelevant rt is.

Thanks for pointing that out. It truly is putting lipstick on a pig.
:D

I thought the non RT image was the RT version and vice versa till I read your message. :|
If I was being generous, I think I might conclude that CP2077's RT implementation was an after-thought.

Maybe there will be better examples in future, but CP certainly do anything to convince me I need to get on the RT bandwagon right now.

Cyberpunk has been hyped up due to the visuals but if you really look into it the devs have just put lots of neon signs everywhere. Watch Dogs Legion at least adds lots of London architecture which is much better than some futuristic looking buildings with ad screens everywhere. Visuals aside the game is really far below GTA5 and Watchdogs standards when it comes to AI. The pedestrians just walk in a straight line like zombies and if you block them they just turn and walk in the opposite direction. The cars just stop without trying to swerve around you.

Absolutely ridiculous and not worth a 50% rating let alone the 90+ some paid media are giving it. Nvidia had bought off media such as DF who are constantly praising RT at the moment. They even awarded Cyberpunk the best graphics of 2020 award. What on earth!!

Sorry, what negative feedback? What I did say before posting is that screen shots don't do it justice. People won't understand the environment without taking control, much like VR.

Do you actually have RTX card to say this.?
All the games I tried with DLSS worked on my 21:9 1440p monitor without any issues.

I had 2080ti and 49" 32:9 monitor. All dlss 1.0-1.9 games were resricted to certain resolutions with Dlss 2.0 still have problems with it. If game support your ratio and has Dlss 2.0 there is a chance to run it. Most probably you tried Dlss 2.0 Control, Death Stranding or Deliver us the moon.

Here is another sample of RT that I took since it was raining in game.

You can see in the off image that detail is missing as SSR has no chance here.

When I move further up the road you can then see what was adding the extra detail.

As I've said a few times, It is difficult to understand the environment from screen shots.

It still looks pish, ok i know .... still shots ect...

But its no Crysis and ir... to be honest is a tech demo paid for by nvidia to play folk - honestly guys its not amazing looking.

Have you looked at Crysis today? It's far better than Crysis.

Remember RT is not proprietary to Nvidia. AMD are working to get it running on RDNA2 cards.

Game looks beautiful in places even with RT off!

Some said that about No Mans Sky on its release.

There will always be people that enjoyed the experience. on the bigger question on whether Cyberpunk delivers what the devs promised after many years in development, i am not sure it does and therein lies the rub. The balance between having a good time with the game and being true to tech demos.

Not sure why there is so much hate for CP2077. From a bugs perspective, I could understand and there is plenty but from looks, I don't get it and it is the best game I have seen with or without RT.

I would say a couple things in CDPR's defence, since we've moved on from just RT.

1. I notice GTA 4 was used in this comparison. In many ways, GTA 5 was a regression from GTA 4. The collision physics was much dumbed down in 5, and your vehicle became almost indestructible (like CP). GTA 4 had much better physics, handling, etc. Both in terms of realism and fun (imho).
2. GTA 4 was Rockstar's 6th (or so) attempt at an open world driving game. This is CDPR's first attempt.

OTOH, hasn't CP2077 been in development for 10 years... so far longer than GTA 4.

OTOOH, Rockstar had over 1,000 people working on GTA 4 according to Wiki. That's probably more than CDPR.

I <3 GTA4. I absolutely hated GTA5 tho. Worse in almost every way.

The negative feedback about rt you are ignoring. People are objecting to your bias claims and telling you that the game fine without rt ,for example. And showing you how pointless some elements are like shadows.

The more you keep defending nvidia implimentation of fake rt the more you expose your own bias. The pics you've posted are not revolutionary nor evolutionary. And they are suppose to have 5 elements of ray tracing in them. Looks like they need to add another 5 more element.

Again, thats for proving my point.b
