Nah mate clearly what's going to happen is they'll put up a slide saying "pricing", a second slide showing an HD 4870 and the audience will go wild as the 6800 XT comes out for $299 while matching the RTX 3080 at raster performance. 2008 is back, the pandemic is over and all we have to worry about is a little austerity.

Ok that's not what's going to happen but I'm oddly excited for this given I haven't actually had a desktop for almost a decade now. Would be nice to see a pricing war go in the right direction for a change.

The last Nvidia card I had was a 8800GT.
Then I moved to AMD, 5970 crossfire, 7970 crossfire. 290X crossfire, Now on Vega 64 LC (AIO) since it launched. Never looked back.
Was so tempted back to green by the 3080. In a way I see it as a blessing in disguise that the failed launch happened.

Got my sights on the 6900XT. Hoping to re-coup some of the cost by selling my Vega 64

For me to buy one it'll need to either:
a) Match 3080 in Rasterisation, whilst losing RT, and be cheaper.
b) Beat 3080 in Rasterisation, whilst losing RT, and match the price (not necessarily the fictional MRSP).
Either of these and I'll be ordering.

p.s. I apologise for not using the word 'shall', it seems to be a bit of a thing.

Love him or hate him but Paul from Red Gaming Tech could find that his whole Youtube career is in tatters in a few hours time. He was the first to claim that AMD were using a technology called 'infinity cache' to supplement the alleged 256bit bus on RDNA2. If that turns out not to be case any credibility he has earned will quickly go down the pan then again that's the price you pay when dealing with rumours and leakers.

How much did you pay for your Vega 64 LE back in the day

I'd bet he's on the money - there simply has to be special sauce going on with memory given AMD showed a card competitive with the 3080 at 4k but all leaks point to no more than 256 bit bus... also some recent (iirc linux driver) code digging showed up what appears to be reference to 128mb cache on the beyond3d forums recently.

We will soon find out, but rather than expecting his channel to be in ruins I'm interested in the reverse if it turns out he was right - ie what all those people crapping over him and his information will have to say for themselves! There are some situations when you can say these leakers just got lucky with guesses or set such broad targets that they were unlikely to miss, but this cache stuff is so specific and out of left field I'd love to see how they twist it if it turns out to be accurate.

His audience are narrow minded if that's the case. Common sense would dictate you use a pinch of salt for any rumours and you're only as accurate as your sources. I would rather hear any rumours because there is likely to at least be a grain of truth in them and they make things interesting and exciting.

I really want these to scale better in 1440p than Amphere does. 4k is awesome and that, but a 4k monitor that I want doesn't actually exist. So I am not changing my gaming res anytime soon :D - But I do want much better 1440p performance, as I'd love to get a 144hz 1440p UW next year.
