Well the 8086 prices have been lower than the 8700k recently so whilst I get they are the same Product your better off choosing on price.

The video is very interesting and on the whole results are so close that there is nothing in it at all when gaming in high resolution. It makes for a compelling argument to go Ryzen. The only fly in the ointment is badly coded games like Far Cry which will max out one core to 100%. For those, having Intel’s higher single core performance is still a benefit. Hopefully, cases like this will become less common in future.

Nope, quite a few sites do show higher frames even at 1440p with Intel CPUs. So it's not just 1080p. Probably doesn't matter as much to those with 60hz screens though.
And again that video only shows average fps, no minimums shown.
I was mostly looking at 4K, I would only drop to 1440p if the game demanded it. Fair point about the minimums though.

for all the intel is the king for gaming crowd, while I agree that the fastest intel CPUs are definitely better for gaming than the fastest AMD CPUs with the same GPU, the price difference between a 1600x and a i7 8086k is the difference between a 1080ti and a 1060, and I promise you, a 1600x and a 1080ti will give you a better gaming experience than an 8086k and 1060

I'd rather have a 2600 than any Intel quad and at <£160 it's a no brainer, especially when you will be able to plop a next gen Ryzen in the same board down the line.

Why buy a 370 board for a new Ryzen build - which a new MB will be to most folks, myself included???
For my multitasking, multithreaded workloads, cores are king. Ryzen it has to be. First time with AMD for many years, been an Intel fanboy until now.

You could shift more ryzen stock if you claimed there is short supply and whacked the prices up 200%. Seems to be working for Intel and Nvidia stock. Give it a whirl, hell most people have been priced out of PC gaming by now, might as well kill it off completely.
