The toughest quiz ever!!

Chess Board =

1 = 64
4 = 49
9 = 36
16 = 25
25 = 16
36 = 9
49 = 2 (NO, IT'S FOUR DAMN IT)
64 = 1
= 204

ie there are 64 squares consisting of 1 block, 49 consisting of 4, etc etc etc.

Pretty predictable after the first couple tbh.

Amp34 wins :o

And would you believe me if I told you the guy that phoned up got it wrong?

And what was the right answer?

I'd bet that the 'correct' answer wasn't 28.

My mate and I spent about 90 minutes watching one of these whilst we were bored and getting drunk once. It was a simple maths equation, but devoid of any brackets and so depending on how you interpreted it you could get a load of different answers. We worked out that there were five different ways to interpret it sensibly, and so that answer could have been any of five different things - and we have maths degrees, so we were right goddammit!

But eventually somebody had called in and given each of our five answers, and they were all wrong. The 'right' answer turned out to involve interpreting it in a REALLY stupid, convoluted way, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same.
