Talking of weather sealing, I find it odd (stupid) that none of the PanaLeica primes are weather sealed at all. I had ordered the 15mm as it’s on offer but I’m sending it back - intention was to pair it with the G80 as a walkaround/street camera but reluctant to do that with it not being weather sealed. Also may do a u-turn on the GX9 and return it.

Agree with you, the prime range needs a refresh and weather sealing has to be part of that. Even the cheap 12-60 kit zoom is sealed.

I'd love to see a refresh of the 1.7-1.8 primes, sealed, compact as possible.

Yeah it definitely needs doing though I suspect Panasonic will be putting all of their efforts into their full frame offering in 2019 and we’ll see M43 slip a bit as far as they are concerned. Completely hope I’m wrong mind you.

Interesting to see what happens with Olympus and their behemoth. Won’t be getting it personally, massive body with a tiny sensor seems a bit backwards to me.

I suspect m43 will slowly wind up over the coming years, Pana will push into FF (with limited success I'd have thought) and Oly seem to be pushing into higher and higher price tiers where their products make little sense.

Specific body for sports/wildlife though. Unless that is what you specialise in, best to get any other body in the range.

Not sure how many pro sports or wildlife shooters are using Olympus already - and I can’t see the system attracting many new shooters.

Maybe it’s going to be aimed at the high-end enthusiast do you think?

Unless you’re heavily invested in the M43 eco-system I really struggle to see why you’d get one over, say, a D500 or A7iii if the rumoured prices are right.

Guess we shall wait and see. I’d love to see Olympus do well with it but I think they’re just way off the mark.

better low light, faster processing (twice as fast as the em1 mark ii), much improved focus tracking, dual ISO readings, 7.5 stops of image stabilising. Put that together with lens you can handhold and have effectively double the reach of full frame, if they get it right, it will sell.

If they get it right it could well be a compelling option then. Keen to see what happens.

Wanted to try out my PL 12-60 in Dublin but it's cloudy here, thiink I'll try some night time photography. Is it me or is Dublin not that picturesque?

Oh should have added that they do have some nice whiskeys. Sipping on some writers tears...

Hi guys, just joined the dark side.. I've been out of photography for quite a while (4+ years) and found that I stopped using my DSLR and just used my iPhone for everything, this is mainly due to the size of carrying the DSLR and lenses everywhere.

Recently I've been getting into 4WD adventures and thought it was time to get a better camera, So, I just sold my Noikon D7000 and bought an Olympus OM-D E-M10. Havent used it out yet, but looking forward to my next trip on 24th March.

What's the best place to grab a 12-40mm? I'm thinking it should fare well as a bit of a landscape/walk about/travel go to?

Been looking at eBay but Jessops/Camera Jungle do have a 12 Month warranty which is kind of nice...

I think it's time I added a wide angle lens; is the 7-14mm pro still the must have? my 12-40 has done very well on all my trips but a few shots i could have done with that extra bit of room.
