Poland is largely homongenous (around 99% native born Poles). Not sure about Iraq, but the African nations are about as multi-ethnic as you can get. (Of course, the African tribes are also notorious for slaughtering each other at the slightest opportunity, but that has nothing to do with multiculturalism and everything to do with traditional ethnic rivalries).

I have no problems with immigrants and think the major problems in cities are from poor people living in poor quality housing areas. Because immigrants fall disproportionately into this group, some people blame them.

I think we should have a legitimate debate on what the sustainable population level of the uk is as the pressure on housing in the south is getting silly. This is impossible within the eu though as by law people can come to live in the uk. I'm torn because I know there are major economic benefits but in fifteen or twenty years time we could have greater social costs from overpopulation. I don't want it to be like japan where most people live in very small housing. I fear that the greenbelt will be eroded for housing too.

But enoch powell was talking rubbish.

Powell was wrong. The 20 years have come and gone and still no rivers of blood. There are problems with the unfettered immigration we have had but there are far worse problems in the UK today and most of them are caused by native born brits.

Probably an increase in Poles, that was since the last census. But I get confused if Poles are alright or not what with them being white...
