Download the 55d launcher and unzip/unrar it to your FS2 root directory to replace the existing one:
55d launcher download: http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/Launcher55d.rar
Go to said directory and now click the updated "Launcher" file. Send a shortcut on your desktop to make things easier in future. Once it's been clicked and opened you'll see a bog-standard launcher.
Men use joysticks. Fact.
Seriously though, half the fun is using an analogue stick to pilot the ship... mastering it is hella satisfying. Mouse feels un-natural for any space or flight sims imo.![]()
I originally had a "logitech wingman" a few years ago which I used for this game and it worked perfectly well and I found easier than a mouse. My son finds it a pain having to lift the the mouse off the desk when theres fast combat going on and its easy to lose the location momentarily of the enemy ship, plus I'm sick of the noise he makes when he bangs it back down onto the desk.
As said earlier I'm leanibng towards the thrustmaster joystick but if anyone has any opinions i'd appreciate it.
whats wrong with the wingman for freepsace?
oh ok. Only i can get a wingman extreme for £6 with the 9pin - usb adapter or spend 17 on a new thrustmast t stick x. I read somewhere that the wingman is bad for controlling freespace because of an axis that makes it roll too much or something
fudge following the guide, I'm stuck on selecting the Flags on the "features" tab on the Open launcher, there isn't anything in the drop down box :-/
Don't get a Saitek Cyborg Evo... I have one at home in the UK and the center is so stiff that it makes minute flight adjustments almost impossible, I find myself lurching all the time with it.
