The United Britain of Great Kingdom

I'd probably go with "variety"...

Weather - Not too hot or cold. It has a lot of variety.
Geography - A mixture of cities, countryside, smaller mountains, lakes and beaches. ie. variety.
Culture - Lots of variety of people, foods, etc. Generally most people are tolerant.

I would also add our own history, culture and people. It may not be a fashionable thing to say but as mentioned by another poster above, most people here are polite, resilient, strong and believe in a sense of fairness.
It's like the Three Bears of Mediocrity.

"Who's been sitting in my mildly disappointing weather?"
"Who's been visiting my boring geography, even with that one hill?"
"Who's been enjoying the fine culture we imported/stole from overseas and then we introduced the B word to keep Maccy busy and the xeno's happy?"

Jealous?

Also talking about stealing culture while living in New Zealand. Lol.

Some people can never be happy.

The NHS. Having just been patched up yet again by Coronary care myself, and the cancer treatment my ole mum received at the beginning of the year, we will be ever grateful. Unfortunately it's struggling more and more each year now, it's one of those thing you don't appreciate until you need it.

Completely agree. It isn't perfect and frankly it's getting a lot worse. But for critical care it's wonderful not having to worry like some countries. It's fixed me, and my family, so many times.

Connectivity to the World. Loads of cheap flights to all sorts of interesting places. We are so well connected.

The availability of good food. We have such unbelievably good food from all over the world. I can have almost any type of cuisine that I want, and it’ll be good, well priced and interesting. And I’m talking about being in Glasgow. Dare say it’s even better in the bigger cities down south.

That's probably true but you misunderstand me. Self-deprecation trumps Mason-'s #24 post because us Brits have historically leaned away from the notion of UK Uber Alles.
Well after all you would live and breathe what you believe. You emigrated away to somewhere 'better', right?

And that's why you spend so much of your time reading and contributing to a forum that is British and in the sub-forums that talk about current affairs and general chit chat, you know a microcosm of British culture. Maybe you just haven't clicked yet with the locals, how many years has it been?

Mother nature doesn't try and destroy us. We don't get natural disasters at all. We don't have other creatures that want to murderify you too (suck it Australia!)

Yes, I did.

I hope you're still studying your piano.
