The Unofficial Fallout 3 Thread

I have played the game for 20 mins, plodding along to megaton. So I admit I havent exactly got far. But....... I'm actually bored already, same happened with farcry 2 and X3: Terran Conflict. I think after 17 years gaming am I losing the bug? I dunno..... just nothing feels amazing anymore. I feel I have done all these games before............

Can I be saved? :p

I know what you mean. The start is a bit boring, but dont give up, the game get MUCH better after. Well at least if your someone that likes good stories in the game. But yeah, I found the start a bit boring too.

I was the victim of a bug last night in the Super Duper Mart.

I was in VATS mode about to pwn a raider but I hadn't got enough AP to do it but it wouldn't let me exit VATS mode.

Had to quit the game. :(

There's some cool stuff in the Mart including a Laser Gun I was about to buy at the supplies store in Megaton

Getting into this a lot more now.

Just been through the Super Duper Mart and really enjoyed it. Gradually making my way around the place trying to get as many Raiders as possible without them seeing me. The VATS is great when you get them unaware and get a cool cut scene.

I couldn't for the life in me find the medicine though, spent along time checking all areas and boxes in the back room. Maybe I missed a door somewhere? Didn't stay too long though as after 10 mins or so of me being on my own 4/5 raiders suddenly apeared coming from the door area and my health was very low so took them out and scarperd!

hi

this month im on a bit of a tight budget but i do want a new game , this looks really good , but im undecided if i should get fallout 3 or deadspace??

what should i get , ps3 by the way, am i correct in that fallout and deadspace are story lead games?

cheers

If your only getting one game then Fallout 3 will give you more bang for your buck, but if plan to buy other games,i.e. LBP or Resistance 2 for instance then I'd go with Deadspace as the campaign is only 9 hours long.

got myself some munchies heading into Fallout now :D (tossed a coin and it won over fable2 as to which i should start first)

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IN MY POST

I've been playing and exploring, omg~ This is actually a step better than Oblivion in my opinion~ Probably because of the atmosphere. The Super Duper Mart is great for stuff but the protection robot thing is pants. It got destroyed by a women holding a bat. Meh~

I was also trying to go to find dad then got deviated when I crossed the river - have been heading down south, south eastern so far and there's quite lot to pick up and kills. There are loads of super mutants with big big guns!

I'm playing a greedy fat cat, willing to do anything for money. Very fun:D

Controls are unfortunately Oblivion all the way - Even the way the camera views NPCs (zooms into them) is Oblivion.

In saying that the graphics are pretty good and the voice acting is about a million times better :)

Im really evil, anybody by them selves, and have gear on them, i clean em out, and raid there houses innit :D

Seriously good game, kinda wishing i was good though :(

Picked this up yesterday and I must say I'm starting to like it more and more.
I hate Megaton cause it's very hard to navigate and what's up with the lack of colour in the game?
Everything is grey or brown and it seems to me that the graphics are worse than Oblivion?
Once I complete it I will probably sell it and go back to Oblivion.

It's post-apocalyptic Washington D.C., what colours were you expecting.

Bah I don't have this game yet but do people not understand the concept of Fallout? It's not supposed to play like an FPS or be Oblivion: The Sequel.

It's FALLOUT.

****SPOILER****

Is anyone else finding mobs way overpowered? I have been running quests from Megaton for the Supplies shop, just got to a ship and found info about my Dad, but when I try to follow it up I am chased by huge mutants that can literaly squash me in a few hits...

Jcb33.

this is a brilliant game! The dialogue is sooooo much better than Oblivion. Heck i find myself listening to some of the background and stories.

Spoilers Megaton :D highlight to see

Playing as a good guy on the first run through. Me and Lucas dealt with Mr Burke...unfortunately Lucas is dead but heyy nice reward for de-activating the bomb eh! :D I also like the reward you get for helping Leo Stahl with his drug rehab heh.

ALso i found myself wondering why does Burke and Tenpenny want Megaton destroyed? Is it because the Church of the Atom are there? and they hate the church? Then again when i was talking to the confessor chap he talked some weird stuff about the bomb...actually making me think maybe they want the bomb to go off so they can all "transcend" or smt

Only thing is.. Moriarty.... hes scum i want him out or taken down ...now short of just shooting his face off is there a way within the story to bring him down? As i would like Megaton to be a nice place for me to live in MY house :)

LOVING IT :D

been playing this over the last 2 days and i have to say what an excellent game it is, gave me a few headaches at first but once i got out of my FPS way of playing i've really started to enjoy it, although i'm beginning to feel the strain in the more densely 'populated' areas :/

8/10 (which is better than i'd give most of the damn awful games around these days.

out of curiosity, did anyone set of the megaton bomb?
