Well, decided not to get syringes because of mixing by weight. Going to be using a 30ml bottle to drip nic from into my mixes.

Btw chaps, I've built the Velocity Mini with dual coil. My first ever dual coil on any device. Very easy on this I must say. 24 gauge SS 317L 8 wraps 3mm coming out at 0.3 ohms. There's no doubt it's an amazing RDA. Chucking clouds to about a 7 foot distance. Clouds for days! :D And she looks nice too.

But I built it too low, because my mod only does 50w and I'm at maximum 50w which gives me only 3.4v. What ohm and gauge do you recommend I should build for my mod?

I have 28, 26 and 24 SS 317L wire. I'm not into hot vapes. I tried vaping this with the adapter and my own stainless steel drip tip doing mouth to lung and found it too warm and uncomfortable. Not like it was burning my tongue but just like warm steam which I don't find enjoyable. When I put the chuff cap back on it was much nicer, a fair bit cooler and less aggressive. Should I be going for sub ohm or maybe over 1 ohm and less wattage?

As far as I understand, I will need some VG based nicotine. VG itself to dilute the nicotine and flavourings to obviously add flavour?

Is it that simple? Ive seen 4.5% nicotine VG for sale, if I want 0.3mg per ml I'm guessing i use one of those calculators to get it to that.

Is that about it or am I missing something?

Also can you rebuild the coils on a Atlantis V2? £12 for 5 seems daft.

Purchased a Kanger Subtank Mini yesterday on a bit of a whim, an upgrade from my starter Curve 20w.

Have also ordered a ton of high VG liquids to try.

Using the sub-ohm coil, when I'm looking to change flavour should I rewick all the time or will washing it out be enough?

High VG might be to thick for the Kanger mini.

I get 7.2% Nic, VG and PG from everything liquid and Flavours from Chefs vapour.

Yes use a calc, also go to first page of this thread and scroll down to my post about the math of mixing nic just so you understand what's going on behind the scenes. PoTV has a good phone app that's free.

It really is quite simple, start off with small mixes to play with % of flavours. Some might be good to go after a good shake, others might need steeping and breathing before they are nice. Keep track of blends and steep times so when you find one that flicks your switch, it'll be easy to duplicate.

What I tend to do is mix up a batch of nic, vg, pg in one larger bottle (give it a good shake, stand, shake) so then I don't have to keep faffing about mixing those ingredients in small amounts for every bottle.

I have a 30ml syringe mate specifically for my Nic. I have poured it in before however, just make sure you're wearing some gloves and have a steady hand!

In all honesty I'd buy PG based Nic, it's a hell of a lot easier to work with, and nicotine doesn't disperse properly in VG so I hear.

I saw it on Reddit a while ago, a guy tested different parts of the same bottle and saw drastic changes depending on where he took the sample from.

I'd look at getting 72mg (7.2%) as it'll last you ages! Look at Pirates Vape or DarkStar Vapour for starters.

PG/VG from eBay (Search for Classikool).

There should be some detailed posts by myself a couple pages back, that should get you started mate!

70/30 should be fine. I ran a Subtank a while back with that mix and had no issues. 80/20 will be too thick imo. 60/40 is probably your best bet!

Thanks for the information, I have taken some screenshots of the Nicotine calculation 2 pages back.

I'm looking for 70/30 - 80/20 VG concentration.

Regarding nicotine content. I only want 0.3mg per ml does this look about right?

Thanks for that. I've played around with it. Default for my Sigelei 50w is this:

Default
Resistance range for maximum power 50 W
0.2 - 1.44
Max voltage 8.5
max wattage 50
median resistance 05
sweet spot 0.988

Then I changed the voltage down to 5v:

Resistance range for maximum power 50 W
0.2 - 0.5

Max voltage 5
max wattage 50
median resistance 0.3
sweet spot 0.4

Then I changed the wattage down to 20w:

Resistance range for maximum power 20 W
0.2 - 1.25
Max voltage 5
max wattage 20
median resistance 0.3
sweet spot 0.7

Lol, I've no idea really what I'm doing or what settings I want, as I still don't properly understand the relationship of watts to volts and whether I need higher volts or higher watts. Would it be better to be vaping around 4 to 5v max and 20 to 30w? 8.5v and 50w sounds quite extreme? But I think I'll go for somewhere between 0.7 and 0.9ohms on 26 gauge.

Ah, so you do use a syringe. This is why I was asking about me buying syringes a few pages back.:p I've got a 10ml syringe that I've been using a lot for just Boots VG in my unflavoured juice the past year, but the numbers and lines have all but worn off and the syringe has become stiff to push the plunger so I daren't use it for nicotine in case it spurts it all over the place.

Looks right.

I use 4.16ml per 100ml @ 3mg, just a shame that the application doesn't do lower than 2 decimal places :p

How do you get a measurement so precise? guessing you use scales?

I have scales which go down to 5 decimal points. Would it be better using that?

Would you weigh 10ml of each liquid and then divide it accordingly?

I mix by measurement so as you can imagine it's never exact.

I have a set of 1ml syringes that go down to .1ml major increments, with .01 increments inbetween, to the best of my ability I go as exact as I can but it won't kill you not being 100% exact.

I vape 3mg (or as close to it as I can get). In different batches one may be 2.8mg, the other may be 3.2mg etc. I only mix for myself so it's not anything I worry about.

Ah, so you do use a syringe. The point of the Sweet Spot, this is the point where your mod will allow you full access to the full power range of your mod, from its min to its max power, for your 50w mod, that sweet spot is.98ohms

As for how and what power to use, in the simplest terms.. there is no hard fast rule, you set to taste, as long as its not dry hitting or burning... its personal preference. You find and set where Your happy with the result.
The only catch is that to get a lower ohms coils built out of thicker wire, you will need more power to heat it up, a coil at higher ohms and made of thinner wire needs less power to heat up.

Thanks tweak, that makes good sense to me. Higher ohms and thinner wire is what I'll re build my coils with. By the way, is dual coil better for increasing flavour or clouds or both? And I assume I'm running my battery down faster with dual coil?
 
Thanks to everyone that helped me get on track with diy liquid, just started on my 10 day old 50ml bottles and everything is superb, flavour, hit, cloud everything for a fraction of the cost of buying retail ready mades.

For now I'm going to stick with the convenient yet slightly more expensive way of buying ready mixed vg nic base, I can source 250ml for ~£5 which is fine with me, add in concentrates and I'm vaping my usual 200ml a month for less then £20, considering I was paying over £70 a month previously that's a steal for me.

I also realised that on Monday just gone was 1 year since I quit smoking too :D
 
Mixed up some juice yesterday. 250ml of my blueberry dream, 80ml of some strawberry crust, and have enough concentrate to make 1 litre of apple pie. I have just mixed up a couple of 10ml testers for the apple pie, got some lord of the juice nutmeg and while i think it can offer something to the juice until it has steeped 1% seems too perfumey and a far cry from nutmeg.
 
I might have to give in and buy a Crius.

None of my tanks are doing it for me at the moment, the Crown on stock 0.5ohm coils and the Aromamizer regardless of build are giving me very muted flavour and really harsh throat hit.

Just built a 7 wrap 3mm 317L dual coil in a Snubnose RDA and no harshness and great flavour.
