Loving the flavour from the Uwell Crown, but my juices keep dribbling through the airflow holes, even when closed :(

Guessing this is down to Hangsen being 80% PG? Hopefully my Novavapes order of 70% VG will do better.

Will do!

As luck would have it, while I was at the post office picking up the vcmt....I got red carded for the supreme :p

E: vcmt confirmed as mental, dual 3mm 26+32 11 wrap Clapton's, around 0.7ohm, 110w is barely tickling it :o
Uploading pics now.

So, the VCMT 30mm RTA, in black, purchased for £51 from Evolution Vaping:

https://www.evolutionvaping.co.uk/index.php/vaperz-cloud-mega-tank-black-vcmt-4858.html (still in stock!!)

Whats in the box:

IMAG0308.jpg

The RTA its self, a spare clear tank section (the fitted one is tinted black), a delrin chuff cap/top cap (steel one pre-fitted). As well as the usual bag of o-rings, screw drivers etc...

How it looks on the biggest mod I own (RX200):

It doesn't look THAT out of place on the RX200, as you can see, the little overhang in the second picture but its not that noticeable, its not too heavy for the RX either, though it would look better on a black RX then the rancid white/green thing I was sent by mistake.

Build deck and build:

An absolute massive amount of room - as expected from a 30mm RTA, the build is dual 3mm 11 wrap clapton's (26x32), came out around 0.7ohm, currently have it sat at 100w. No wicking pics as I ended up with sticky fingers before I could snap one, cotton rested in the juice channels, no leaks so far, wicking seems to be keeping up, so happy days :D

The airflow is ridiculous, I have it around 1/3 open with the above build and it still pulls through more air then anything else I own.

Flavor is off the scale, I messed up one of my mixes that ended up at 15% dilute rather then 20%, so flavor is weak....not in this thing!

You could probably use this is a dripper if you so wished, you can clearly see the entire build deck from the chuff cap.

The only con I have for this (besides size, but I can't complain about that, I knew it was big when I purchased it!) is the lack of 510 drip tip adaptor, you HAVE to use either the steel or delrin chuff caps as they're machined to the top cap.

All in all, I'd give it a solid 8/10

^nice review on the vcmt there, got mine this morning but havent had the chance to get her running yet.

Its massive though, i can imagine drippers exist with less build space. Looking forward to getting a big build in there, but im gonna need more wire, dont have enough clapton built up to do this bad boy justice.

Airflow is good too, took a puff through it just to try the resistance and it puts the subtank to shame easily. Nice they give you a choice of top cap too. Not sure about the adjustment though, no detents on the airflow ring so its "infinately adjustable" but probs a pain to keep open

AFC ring is quite stiff tbh, especially once its screwed down on a mod, I have to pinch both sides to turn it so don't think you'd have much issue with it moving on its own.

Has more build space then any dripper I own, though they're all 22mm, I think the most wraps I could shoe horn into the twisted messes RDA of the same wire was 8 or 9 wraps and that was tight, could probably build up to 4mm quite easily in the VCMT.

Quite unsurprisingly, it absolutely drinks juice :p

Good shout on screwing it down, i only took a look havent had the chance to get her going.

Gonna start reasonably small, just dual coil of my current clapton, but im thinking twisted 26awg then claptoned would be good.

Not sure my bank account can take the juice bill though

Start to DIY :)

That or try novavapes, iirc they're around £18 for 100ml and have a promo running until sunday for 30% with the code 30OFF ;)

https://novavapes.co.uk/en/

Might take a look at them, the stuff im gettig atm is the vapour technologies stuff from chefs, really really good flavours but £12 for 30ml hurts the pocket.

Ill check them out, need to do something as my juice bill is sitting at about £100/month which i wont be able to afford when i get back to uni

Ok, so just got to playing with the vmct and, well, wow this thing is freakin amazing.

Built what i thought would be reasonably conservative 26awg with 32awg wrap clapton, 6wraps 3.2mm drill bit each side which was slightly less than the post spacing.

Came out 0.39 each, and 0.19 for both, building was just so easy compared to the subtank rba no fiddling just in, dry burn, tidy them up, wick and go.

Then the clouds, my god the clouds, ive not used a dripper but i imagine this is what its like, airflow is a massive step up from the subtank. Im pumping 75w through it atm and its amazing, feel like i could even go higher.

Metal drip tip doesnt get warm, and the vape is much cooler than i expected for all that output.

All in all im loving this thing, defo a keeper.

Pro's;
Everything is massive, capacity, airflow, build space, clouds.
Really well made, theres some good machining on this thing
Comes with delrin drip tip if you want, but the metal doesnt get too warm
Love the smoked glass, looks cool as hell

Cons
The fill hole is tricky for the glass dripping bottles i use, probably better for plastic squeeze bottles
The battery on the snow wolf is probably going to suddenly become very lacking indeed
The juice bill
Its massive and overhangs a lot on the snow wolf

All i can say is i need a cheaper juice vendor if im gonna be using this thing as a daily carry

Anyone have issues or know of a resolution for the Aspire Cleito tank spitting juice 0.4ohm? I'm on my 4th coil in just under 2 weeks and it's doing my head in now. Also, it seems to leak juice through the bottom air holes.

Seems to be okay for a few days and then suddenly the coil either spits molten juice up which does burn my tongue or it spits raw juice up which tastes like crap.

I've been on the same coil for about 3 weeks at 40w and when I refill it will gargle a abit and spit but I give it a hard drag before firing it and not having any issues with it

Okay I'm looking at getting myself an RTA and a decentish mod box, but ive seen on ebay ect i can buy 0.5 claptop coils already made and then put that straight in to rta which might be the griffin, but then on youtube some people use ohm readers? whats that for because if i was to buy one of ebay already made and tested then surely that would be fine no? im a very big noob at the advanced vaping but im sick a tired of the crappy little pens and also with the rta they are so much cheaper and the coils or coil wire is so so cheap and lasts a lot longer because u can clean and the cotton is cheap, if anyone has skype ect that i could ask a few more questions in depth that would help also cheers

Tbh I'd just buy a spool of wire and start from there, its really not that difficult once you've had a few attempts at it, getting wicking spot on is more tricky IMO, which you'd still have to do if the coils were pre-wrapped or not.

People use Ohm meters, purely just to check ohms and shorts, its more something that stems from the days of using mech mods. Though it does still have the perk of it being impossible to accidentally fire and potentially ruin something (with exception to something like the 521 which has a fire option). Personally I just use one of my mods for ohm read outs.

See the first post on this thread for reputable vendors, I'd tend to advise to steer clear of ebay.

Do you mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung inhale? If you MTL something like the griffin might be a bit too much.

Either way I would suggest picking up a kit like this: https://redjuice.co.uk/parts-and-accessories/coil-master-diy-kit-v2.html

For mods, VTC mini, Cuboid, RX200 are always a good place to start.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Just started vaping my Isle of Custards clone.

Captains Custard Doughnut

0.2ml Cake Batter - Capella
0.6ml Glazed Doughnut - Capella
0.3ml Sweet Cream - Capella
0.7ml Vanilla Custard - Capella

Steeped it for 10 days, probably needs another 5ish. Using at 50/50.

Very nice

I got 4 spools of 316L Clapton wire from fasttech, 28/32 & 26/32, working really well so far, have put dual 28/32, 2mm ID coils in a Crius and a single 28/32 1.5mmID in the Goblin Mini and dual 28/32, 2.5mm ID in an Aromamizer... all working really well, the Aromamizer ive had upto 90w with a 200c TC limit and still not even come close to hitting the TC limit, but its too hot and i prefer it at around 60w.
The Gobin mini is going at 22w in straight power as i have it on the Mini Volt and the Crius im hitting at 50w with a 70w pre heat, again, not hitting TC limit of 200c and it is a great flavour and warm vape.

I would recommend getting a spool rather than pre made claptons so you can build a coil for any tank, pre made limit what you can put them in as the ID maybe too big from some tanks, for example the Crius cant take a 2.5mm ID clapton, its too big, plus you can make Many coils from a spool for less than a handful of pre made coils.
You should always use an ohm reader before putting a newly coiled atty on a mod, just because a coil is pre made, does not mean there will be no shorts or hot spots from you fitting it to your atty.

Yeah i want to mouth to lung also thank you for that a lot of this has helped massively, erm i wanted to keep my budget under £100 and is the griffin not good for mtl?

As above, the griffin is strictly a lung hitting tank, you'd want something like one of the kayfuns, expensive, but very very well made.

You could likely do a kayfun lite + VTC Mini + DIY kit and some wire/cotton for around £100.

@UKD, care to link to the SS clapton spools on FT? I find it a bit of a nightmare navigating FT for exotic wire.

E: Forgot battery and charger which would take you over £100...

Also just ordered 100ml of Tropical Glacier and 100ml of ECR_EU from novavapes, both 80/20 and 3mg, finding 6mg is starting to make me feel nauseous.
