My RX200 arrived today along with a TFV 4 micro, it took 2 weeks from fasttech.

While i was waiting for it i brought myself some ss316l, so i coiled the TFV 4 and all i get is the mod displaying "temp protection" which baffled me.

So after abit of googling and updating the firmware i find out 316l is not compatible with the mod  but ss304 is.

Loving the mod, but now i have to get some more wire to try out temp mode.

Dumb question alert!
Do bees/wasps like the fog...does it actually attract them?
I ask because no matter how much I try, I turn into a 11 year old girl when wasps invade my personal space and a nosey bee flew past earlier and spent a good 2 minutes investigating around me which led me to make this post.
Bees I don't mind so much, wasps I hate with a passion and the feeling is mutual.

Wouldn't shock me if it confused them. The smell maybe makes them think there is fruit and easy to get at sugars.

Odd, as far as i am aware, all Eleaf and VF current boards have a SS mode that is specifically for 316L, getting temp protect too soon means too much power applied or a badly made and wicked coil or an unsuitable atty that does not provide enough airflow over the coils to keep them cool.

Also, you should be able to set a custom TCR to use with Any wire...

Absolutely loving this little PICO thing - All the modern features and 75w in a pocket powerhouse... not that I use anything more than VW, but nice to know I have it all if I ever need it!
It's wonderfully small, but not so much to be unusable even with large hands.

I had to buy from TW, as no-one else had the black one in stock at the time... Annoyingly, having seen mine, the local B&M then went and ordered a load in... dammitt!!

304 was the grade originally used for the SS mode, but if you update your RX200, the SS mode is now for 316L. You also get three custom modes M1, M2 and M3 that let you use any wire with a high enough TCR. I can't remember how you adjust them (turn it off, hold up+down?), but the TCR values are the ones provided by steam engine's wire wizard divided by 10 (and without the exponent x10^-6).

As for temp protect, that's likely because the RX200 comes with the watts limit at 200W by default, so it shoots up instantly, probably overshoots the temperature, and gets a bit confused. Test out your coil in power mode to see where it vapes nice, and try that wattage x1.25 in TC. To change the wattage limit for TC, switch it to the SS mode, and then click the fire button 4 times.

As UDKT says, it could also be your coil. SS has a habit of causing this due to it's low TCR. A 0.2 ohm coil might only reach 0.24 ohms when hot, so it's advised to try to get the resistance as high as you can for your style of vape, because the mod will find it easier to work with 0.50-0.60ohms than it will 0.1-0.12 ohms. A non-spaced coil can also cause this, if the coil moves slightly as it heats and comes into contact somewhere, the resistance change can throw off TC. If playing with settings has no effect, try using a slightly spaced coil and see if it helps.

Also, I'm assuming you've used TC before and are locking in your resistance at room temperature? Some mods it isn't necessary but I found the RX200 was a finicky bugger for it.

The RX200 does support SS316L, I think you need to put it on the correct setting.

Lovely little thing ain't it? I like the fire button, perfectly placed and shaped to hold it in your whole hand and just squeeze your index finger to fire. And with it holding an 18650 it packs plenty of power and battery life. It's not left my side since I got it!

The moonshot is a great performer, for clouds and flavour, but you can drain a tank in a few puffs, its almost like a dripper with a big juice well.

The Theorem... not so sure about it, cant do TC which is how i normally vape, the airflow even on one hole, is massive but to get the notch coil performing takes 30w Plus, but at 35w or over it will dry hit on a pull longer than 2 seconds.
I plan to rebuild it soon with kanthal at higher ohms and see how it goes in comparison.

Seriously need a moonshot, :D wish I had got one over the Aromamizer V2 I got last week. I already had the V1 and the V2 feels nothing new, works a treat mind.
Can you compare the MS to an Aromamizer? I love the look of that MS, just don't tell me if it performs better my two mizers, it'd be too much to take.

The flavour is perhaps a little better on the moonshot due to its smaller chamber and it can sure take more power, but its for that reason and the limited juice capacity that i would choose the Aromamizer over the moonshot, dont get me wrong, its a great performer, but has no stamina and will drain your juice and batteries faster than the Aromamizer and i dont think the extra flavour is worth it, but im running mine now around 50w with 70w pre heat in TC with 317L SS coils at around 0.25ohms and its doing as good in flavour and vapor as an Aromamizer at the same build but without breaking a sweat, but still draining the juice too fast.

If you want a small tank that can perform, get the 3ml Aromamizer... if you want to show off using silly hight power and eat your
batteries fast, get a moonshot.

Thanks for the response.

All sorted now, the coil is spaced and came out at .57, the only thing i did was set the wattage to 40 (i had it set to 30w) and set the temp to 440.

This my first time using tc, and tbh i prefer wattage mode using SS, so are NI200 or TI any different, also what are the do's and dont's.

So I made 100ml of this last night, definitely needs a steep/breathe as all I can taste is the Graham Cracker atm, but it smells delicious! Diketone free too!

Sweet Strawberry (CAP) 8%
NY Cheesecake V2 (CAP) 4%
Sweet Cream (CAP) 3.5%
Graham Cracker V2 (CAP) 2%
Vanilla Custard V2 (CAP) 2%
Vanilla Swirl (TFA) 1%

I will be rejoining the vaper crowd this month! I had stopped for about 6 months then found my way back onto cigarettes.

I used to use ego batteries with vivi nova tanks / evod tanks but before I make any purchases what would be best to go for?

I want reliability, that's the main thing, and I am willing to spend a decent bit of money to get good stuff!

Update on status: Post from January 2015 and still only using my ecig. No more cigarettes but what is more promising is the fact I am using my ecig less and less, including work :)

I think going for more expensive equipment in January helped matters a lot as I wasn't constantly fighting with coils that would burn out quick, tanks that would randomly leak, batteries dying too quick etc.

Currently using:
Joyetech vtc mini
Aspire Atlantis v2

I think by the end of this year I will be away from everything vape related which is where I want to be, even though the liquids do taste very good lol

Raise your coil up, I notice in that picture it's pretty much sat on the deck, I have mine much closer to the airflow. I've since swapped out the notch coil but could get 30-65W out of it easy, that 35 is a burnt hit would suggest to me it's not getting any air, which might also be screwing with TC. With mine, I have the top of the coil in line with/slightly higher than the top of the plug-blocker-thing. Any higher and it's drink-juice-city but here (with a different drip tip) I'm getting a perfect balance.

Thanks for the response.

No worries, glad you got it sorted. It's a very different vape, tbh I also prefer wattage mode. I only use TC if I'm demo-ing my vape to others, as it's self-regulating if they don't inhale the way I'm used to for that atty.

As for nickel and titanium, IMO there isn't any point. Both shouldn't be used in power mode, as if they get too hot, nickel bursts into flames and titanium turns to dust - granted you wouldn't vape at that temp but it can happen. This also means you can't dry burn them to work out hotspots, so SS is just naturally a better choice. Nickel allergies are also a thing, while fairly rare, doesn't hurt to avoid. I haven't used nickel but I did find titanium also had an odd taste to it, though this could just be that the spool I had was filthy!

Cheers D D, ill try raising the coil next time i re wick, im basically using it as it came, all i did was cut off a lot of the cotton as they had the deck stuffed with it and the coil is where it was already fitted and in line with the rear airflow so i just left it as is and vaped lol

I know this has probably been asked millions of times, but i'm not a smoker however I always without fail buy fags when drinking on nights out/down the pub etc. I really want to get an e-cig and am not fussed about spending loads on it, literally £20/30 is fine.

What would be best? Also don't want tobacco flavors, would prefer fruit or menthol tasting vapours.
