***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Right then fellas thinking of upgrading my coolfire IV plus as its starting to turn itself off mid vape. I change flavours quite a bit at the moment due to having bought a sample pack and its taking its toll on the poor coil.

What are my options? I don't go past 25w on this I've tried vaping at 70w with an aspire tank and didn't notice anything different so something I'm doing wrong maybe?

Like the look of the smok alien and its decent review but 200w?! :D

Thoughts please want to order this by the weekend.

Ta

I can vouch for the Smok Alien mod. Had it for 3 months and it's still as good as the day I picked it up. Paints chipped a fair bit though so it that bothers you...

I wouldn't get the kit option though, I think Smok tanks are massively overrated and the coil lifespan is dreadful.

Why the need for "scales"? I've been mixing for a few years and never needed them.

Mixing by weight (scales) instead of volume (syringes) is a LOT easier. You'll have less to clean up and you'll get a much more consistent mix.

First time RTA I'd recommend either the troll RTA (if you can find stock!) Or the aromamizer rdta/aromamizer supreme, all 3 are pretty hard to wick wrong, making them more friendly to someone new to rebuildables, and all come with velocity style decks so easy to fit coils.

Thanks for suggestion guys.

Just had a look @ a few reviews, it's exactly the type of tank I was looking for.

Can anyone recommend what type of wire I should be using with this tank, or even any pre-built coils to start off with until I get to grips with building my own.
Will any brand organic cotton be fine or is there massive variance in quality etc between them?

Sorry for all the noob question

I'd get a roll of 22, 24 and 26awg (gauge) wire - http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/ sells everything you need.

If you want something a bit fancier, look at their Clapton, Hive, Quad & Alien Wire.

Any Organic Cotton is fine, providing that it's unbleached.

It's not worth paying extra for this 'Cotton Bacon' bs, it's all the same.

I get mine from Amazon, ~£6 for 200 sheets. Lasts AGES.

There's DEFINITELY a difference depending on what cotton you use. Muji cotton doesn't wick half as well as CB, regardless of what technique you use before wicking.

So what happens if you want to make a 500ml batch? :p

Trust me on this, get a set of 500g x 0.01g scales and you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.

I do make 500ml, which latest's me months :) Nic+flavour then VG. I don't use PG other then flavourings.
Then just clean beaker...done :)

I have to say I agree to an extent, I did use muji constantly, but the latest bag I got wouldn't wick well at all, I presume it had maybe been stored poorly by the supplier. But since moving to bacon I can't see my self moving back, easy to work with and wicks really well.

If it's not wicking as well then you're building/wicking incorrectly. Cotton Bacon is essentially rebranded dental cotton. You can pick it up off Amazon.

Need flavour? Cotton. Need quicker wicking? Rayon.

Each to their own. I know I'd much rather spend £6 for 200 sheets than ~£5 for 10 sheets.

What I'm trying to say is that you'll save yourself a lot of time mixing by weight. Everything straight into the bottle, no messing around using syringes and/or cleaning them out after every flavour.

Oh right. So your pour it straight from the nic\pg\vg in to your 500ml bottle? I should have said it goes straight from the beaker to my 500ml bottle X5 :)
But what ever rocks your boat. You must have steady hands poring VG in to another bottle.

I paid about £8 for 5 bags of cotton bacon on FT last week. That will last me a fair while.
In fact my bag of cotton bacon that I bought back in Dec still have a load of it.

Yup. I mixed by volume for years before I switched to mixing by weight. I will never go back. It's just so much easier and more accurate.

I have everything in separate bottles. A 30ml squeezy bottle that I fill up with Nic. A 500ml bottle for my PG/VG which I just fill up when needed. For the sake of £10 though, I'd recommend giving mixing by weight a go! :)

I have used Pure Cotton balls from a pound shop, Rayon, Nature Wicks, Jap Cotton, Muji and Cotton Bacon.

Pure Cotton balls work fine in an RDA, Rayon is much similar but longer lasting, wicks faster and is a little easier to get in coils, Nature Wicks is a royal pita to thread threw enough in a coil and does not last long, Cotton Bacon gave me a funny taste, Muji and Jap cotton seem similar.
My preference would be Jap cotton and Rayon, but you need to give them all a try for yourself and see as its a preference thing, i know some who swear by Cotton Bacon, others Rayon etc...

Check out Vaping Biker on Youtube, he did a very good test/review of different cottons and how they wick.

Don't think it's a question of building capabilities... It how it's manufactured. I use the Scottish wicking technique for everything and separating/pulling apart the cotton strands is infinitely easier with CB then it is with Muji or any other cotton pads. Not too mention that I find CB that little bit fluffier out the packet.

Vape Mail!

Smoant Battlestar
Ijoy Exo RTA

Really liking the Ijoy, comes with both single and dual velocity style deck.

Has both a 2ml and 6ml capacity tank.

Loads of spares.

Currently running a single coil build with the supplied fused clapton.

Lovely vape, no leaks so far.
