Rilot, have you tried plugging in a USB cord yet on the VTI... on mine the port is too set back in the mod, the lead barely makes contact and will fall out with the slightest movement?
Use the lead that came with it. That seems to have a longer connector that fits securely.

Haha, you know, i never bothered even taking the USB cords out of the boxes when get new mods, but i do have a USB lead with a longer connector already, was just wondering if your VTI had the same issue as mine and Standard USB connectors?

So, what are Troll RTA users throwing in the tank? Got mine yesterday morning and tried a number of builds in it. Can't say I'm overly impressed... I've used fused claptons and standard 24g nichrome, trimmed wicks that reach down to the base of the tank and stubby ones that just pass through the juice flow holes. The flavours just not quite as punchy as I was expecting. It's almost better on my Cleito RTA section...

Any tips?

Yeah I think it is on tight but nothing I can do seems to get it off. It is really stuck. Now I'm panicing that I won't be able to vape for a couple of days while I wait for a replacement. This isn't going to help my giving up smoking.

Are there any kits out there that don't suffer from this problem? If I were to buy something else I'd want something that will just work no matter what. I don't need anything fancy just something dependable.

With vaping I've found 'finger tight' is tight enough. I see far too many people go overboard tightening stuff up.

I've managed to do it in the past with a sheet of kitchen roll, fold it up so it's quite thick and put it in-between a pair of pliers. Then grip the tank and hopefully it comes off!

26g clapton from Vape Atomiser Mesh. 3mm - 5/6 wraps each. Enough cotton in the coil to be snug but it's free to move if you pull it. Thin out said cotton using a pair of tweezers or something, re-trim the excess then place into the juice well. You DON'T want them stuffed! I have mine just barely showing out the bottom of the juice holes.

As with any tank, the flavour is going to be crap on first build. Put a couple tanks worth of juice through it and you'll be gucci.

Yes, mine is the same. It's a little annoying but doesn't detract really from what is an excellent mod. I just connected it to a PC once to copy across all my profiles and then that is probably the last time it will ever been connected.

I'll give it a goosey tonight using 26g Kanthal, though I've been massively put off it since discovering Ni80 wire. I just find the flavour so much better but hey ho, new tank and all.

Cheers Rilot, glad to hear its not just mine and as you say, it does not really spoil the mod, but i do tend to charge via usb at work, so ill dig the USB from its box and bring it to work next time... saves carrying an extra cell.

My Troll RTA arrived this morning.

I've got it built, used the coils it came with, just added an extra turn to it.

I'm having a little problem when I'm filling the tank.
everytime I open the air holes after filling the tank it leaks, not much but enough to cause concern. Now I'm a bit apprehensive about carrying it in my pocket during the day.

Any pointers on what I may have done or am doing wrong?

Edit: on a side note, mione did not come with the screwdriver. Luckily my watchmaker kit has one that fits

Ive had mine a week nearly and not had a single leak and i dont close the airflow when filling , yours is probably leaking because you do not have enough wick blocking the juice holes, try re wicking with a little more cotton, you dont want it stuffed in tight to the juice holes, but you do need to ensure there are no gaps to allow the juice to bypass the cotton.

Watch this vid for a good build:

As @UKDTweak said above mate, too little cotton will cause it to leak a little bit after filling. The same happened to me.

That's such an odd wicking method! But hey, if it works it works. I'll give it a go this eve.

The downside is with the wicks not going all the way to the bottom, when your juice level gets low you need to tip the tank to help wicking, as he says in the video, you can run the tails into the base, but may take a few draws before the longer cotton starts to wick well and keep up with the tanks performance.

That's one thing I haven't missed about the old geni style tanks...

I do like the RTA. Easy to build on, stupidly efficient wicking and haven't noticed substantial leaking issues yet. But I am very worried about that insulator, but it's not like imma be glowing juggernauts in the thing. Those grub screws are going to plain down way too fast as well.

Grimm Green did a video on the Troll RTA and said he had glowed a load of coils and has never seen an issues with the insulator on his tank :)

PEAK insulator, nothing to worry about.

I agree the grub screws are crap. Not sure why they'd use cross-headed ones either, Allen socket would've been loads better. No big deal though, you can get a bag of 200 or so from FT for about 50p. Will look on Screwfix though to see if there's any better quality ones.

Check the spares bag in the box, there are replacement allen head grub screws in it.. the screw heads are naff, i got mine second hand and am still waiting for the guy to get me the box so i can change mine over.

Watched VWT420's video on it and him and his friend melted 2 in the space of 15 mintues... Did look as though he was using beefy coils though.

The thing that baffled me most was only getting 3 coils for a tank that has no single coil option :confused::confused:

Standard wotofo packing, multi tool, cotton and 3 coils all in those comp wire packets.

No issues with the insulator here and I've had some pretty beefy (100w+) builds in mine too, though it tends to shine running something in the 50-70w range.

I've found 3mm ID coils to be the sweet spot as far as wicking is concerned, it naturally gives you just the right amount of cotton, also build it with the tails a quarter inch or so in the holes, pretty much how I build my avocado, no leaking issues that I can recall either.

What setups are everyone using? My alien mod with cleito 120 tank :)
