Well the serpent rdta looks to be a hit, might as well grab one before they all go out of stock.
Wotofo are really smashing it at the moment,
One of the best RDAs - troll v2
One of the best RTA's - serpent mini series
One of the best GTA's - troll RTA
One of the best RDTA's - serpent rdta?
Not a single one over £30 either, well done wotofo![]()
OK guys so you might as well start calling me the dunce of the thread. Basically I broke the tank on my vaper by threading it and it was impossible to get the lid off the tank to fill it up again. We went to the local vape shop for some advice and before I bought anything new I wanted to see what you guys said. For reference this was my old vape unit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgAGXm-dBAg
basically I'd like the following features in my new vaper:
USB charging (should be able to vape while charging) either that or one with batteries that I can buy say 4 batteries and have 2 on charge at a time
Big tank that I can easily replace with another one if I break it again
Relatively simple mod that isn't designed for experts
Easy to find coils for the tank and easy to replace
Easy to fill up the tank without the risk of threading it again
Just one question though what does RDA/RTA stand for? If you guys could recommend a full kit that meets those requirements I would be eternally grateful. I have a budget of about £100 for everything. I could go a bit higher but £100 would be about perfect.
Edit: Oh I currently have 60/40 liquid if that makes any difference. Also are there any vaping YouTube channels I should check out for beginners?
We were all there once man.
Rda= rebuildable dripping atomiser, basically a bucket with 2 posts for coils and no tank, they're not really pocket freindly but offer clouds and flavour in spades and generally easy to build coils for
Rta= rebuildable tank atomiser, basically any tank that exclusively requires you to build your own coils, many normal tanks can have an rba which is a unit that replaces the coil that converts it to an rta, although not quite as good as a dedicated unit. Rta's are slightly harder to wick than an rda but are great when you get it right
Mod wise i'll confess to liking this istick pico, itll do usb charging and as a single batt mod balancing isnt a massive issue, plus you can swap out if needed. This is ofc for the sub 75w range. For bigger stuff/longer battery life i'm using an rx2/3 which is my "power anything" mod, but not something you want to carry in your jeans pocket.
For easy top fill with readily available coils i like the smok series, have a tfv4 mini (would fit nicely on the pico) and a tfv8 (too big for the pico, matches the rx ok) and both are decent, although i've had a run of bad coils recently that pushed me to switch to using the rba on the v8.
My advice, if your not already thinking it yourself, Is get a big mod and big tank as your primary daily vape, and get another smaller setup as a backup. Stay away from built in battery mods, sure theyre handy but the battery dies and your screwed
Do you mouth to lung or direct to lung vape?
Pico or vtwo mini for the mod, pair it with a 30q/he2/vtc6 cell and your good to go!
The only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask![]()
Thank you for the reply. So if I got a Smok tfv8 which looks nice and big and paired it with rx3 that would be a good set up then? Do I just buy a pack of coils to go with it? When I got my last vaper I just bought a pack of 5 coils thinking it would last long enough to use it. I guess I can do the same with this. Where do you actually get your hardware from? I've been looking at Vape Choice but they don't seem to have everything that you have mentioned.
Thanks for the reply. The pico seems popular then. You are the second person to mention it but I can't find it on Vape Choice. Just wondering what the best place to get vape hardware is really. There are so many places selling vaping stuff I don't know what is good or not.
I use ukecig store for the majority of mods/tanks, probably not the cheapest but i cba buying from 15 different shops.
Tfv8 has a whole ton of different coils you can choose, although the "quad" coils (basically a single vertival coil, but 2 twisted pairs in instead of one coil) and the "octo" coils (4 vertical coils with a twisted pair each) are the most common and you get one each and an rba with the tank.
You get the coils in packs of 3, theyre expensive and when you see the size of them you'll know why.
Please bear in mind this is a cloud chucking direct lung setup, so its advised not to use more than 6mg juice, and be prepared this will drink juice like crazy. Coil life depends on the juice you use, can be as low as a day with "premium" american juices or as long as several months with a clean juice and a good coil.
The rx takes 3 batteries, and i can get a day ok with good batteries on the v8, much longer with a smaller tank. If you go for the rx 2/3 you can switch to 2 batteries (changes max wattage) for a bit smaller a package but obviously make sure you keep your batteries as matched pairs/trios and have a good reputable 4 bay charger.
I know this isn't what you recommended but it is available I think in my local vape shop so I won't have to wait for it to be delivered. What do you think of this? I won't be carrying it around with me. I'll just be using it when I am at my computer. I'll probably have to buy 8 batteries for it which would be expensive but it looks like it has everything I would need.

Do I keep the the air holes open or closed while filling the Troll RTA?
