60/40 should be fine on that. I say should as I have zero experience with smok coils or how well they're wicked. But i can't see any reason why you'd hit an issues with 60/40

There is a stipulation for owning a smok alien kit though, not sure if its essential throughout the UK but it certainly is in Aberdeen, you have to adhere to the following guidelines:

Not have smoked previously
Run nothing but expensive yank juice thats 90% sugar
Run eFest batteries, cos' the guy in the shop said they're safe
Chuck huge clouds in public places, people have to know you vape right?
Make a half assed attempt at growing a beard
Get some gauges in your ears (optional)
Obtain some form of flat peak hat

Cool thanks. Damn I already have a beard and I think the liquid I have bought is pretty poor :). The old liquid I had was much better and less sweet. I have some 12mg nicotine 60/40 liquid but the guy in the shop said I shouldn't use 12mg nicotine liquid for some reason. I have no idea why though. I mean 12mg was just about right on my old vapor why can't I use 12mg liquid with my new Smok Alien? I just don't understand. Is the guy in the shop talking rubbish? Or will using 12mg nicotine damage the Smok Alien? That is the only reason I can think of that he said not to use the 12mg liquid.

High Nicotine, well more than 6mg is not recommended for sub 0hm tanks.

I have the alien mod but with a Troll V2 dripper, its a great mod.

With the tank you now have, nicotine delivery is far more efficient, so on your old device 12mg was hitting the spot, but you'll likely find it will either be harsh on the throat or give you a nic rush with the new tank. Step it down to ~6mg and see how you get on with that. If you have a heap of 12mg liquid you find is a little much, buy some 0mg of the same flavors and do a 50/50 mix with your 12mg stuff, theoritically taking it down to around 6mg without loosing any flavor.

Its each to their own though, if you find 12mg fine in that tank stick with it, it won't damage anything :)

OK. Thanks guys. I'll buy some 6mg liquid and see how I go. This tank and mod seem to go through liquid faster than my old set up so I think I'll need to buy in quite big quantities.

Now just to find the best places to buy liquid from. I've been using Novavapes which seems OK and the price is right but I'd like a bit of variety in where I purchase liquids from. I might even sign up to Vape Mail as I saw some YouTube reviews of it and it seems like a fun thing to buy.

I thought with the new TPD DIY was going to be a thing of the past? I've been planning on stock pilling a load of liquids before it comes into force so I have some stuff to fall back on. Although I admit I'm not up to speed on the whole TPD.

Far from it.

Only snag is the nicotine base, hence why I've got at least 3ltr+ in the freezer (enough for many, many years @3mg!).

You will only be able to get 20mg base, not 72mg, plus it will be in 10ml bottles (I think) which would be a right pain! lol

Everything else is not effected.
 
Yep^^^

Got around 1L in the freezer, plan to get another litre or so before may comes around, only vaping at 2mg so should last me quite some time.

Nova vapes did mention this as a possibility, purely to make shipping large orders easier. so for 100ml 6mg (on the basis they use 8% flavor mix) you'd get a 100ml bottle, with 70ml of 0%, then 3 x 10ml 20mg bottles to throw in on top, giving 100ml, 6mg. The big sticking issue is PG/VG ratios, as with that calculation it comes in at around 60/40, if you wanted higher VG one or more of those 20mg 10ml bottles would have to be VG based.

The 10ml bottle issue wouldn't be such a pain in the arse if we we're allowed 72mg...

so they'd be just selling bottles of plain vg with flavour/nic mixed shots?

suppose that could work, wouldn't want to be the guy who mistakenly tried vaping the shots though :eek:

i mean people are still gonna be vaping, just seems like a waste of packaging to me. same as the 2ml capacity rule, although plainly the people that wrote the regs never heard of drippers.
 
The 2ml rule is fundamentally broken, look at the Ijoy EXO RTA, comes standard with a 2ml tank, in the box is an extension and 6ml tank, afaik completely legal to do :p

They'd be selling a 0mg base with flavor mixed in, then throw the 'nic shots' in after.

so as long as the default config is 2ml its fine, well that saves me worrying how long i could keep my various current tanks alive :D

funny really how poorly thought out the regs are, the only bit that seems to not be being worked around or irrelevant due to already being standard industry practice is the toxicology reporting.

i take it if smaller operations like jackamoo and nova can keep going through this they they don't need to test themselves, just use approved concentrates?
 
I think they still need to get individual flavors certified at a cost, iirc NV said they would be dropping some of the less popular flavors once it all kicked in and potentially release recipes (they have released concentrates for EVERYTHING recently) for those dropped lines.

I don't think concentrates alone need much of any individual approval, the community has already pretty much killed anything containing nasty stuff :)
 
So what is the good chargers these days? My trusty old Nitecore i2 has stopped charging right, the first channel almost always thinks the battery is full and the 2nd under charges. The batteries are less than a year old and test okay on the multimeter. I know the OPUS BT-C3100 is meant to be good but can't find anywhere in the UK with stick. Do I buy another nitecore?
 
Anyone using the Troll RTA find it to be a juice guzzler?

4 to 4.5ml juice only gives me something like 60 odd hits.
the Smok baby beast & the Aspire Cleito gave me much better economy.
I vape mid to high 40W
