***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Apologies for the long post. I just wanted to share my experience for those who are considering taking the plunge. My smoking habits varied, on and off for 25 years. I dabbled when I was 16. Previous failed attempts led me to being on average a 12+ day roll up smoker. I have tried patches and Allen Carr method - to be fair both methods worked to a point. I usually relapsed when my confidence grew, e.g. a few weeks later and after a beer. My inebriated brain would be telling me that I can quit at any time. Hence the cycle would start again.

The annual Stoptober came around and as always, guilt creeps in and the little gremlin starts to make it's presence known. A friend recommended a local Vaping store, so I thought; What the hell, let's give it a go. To be fair, the shop was brilliant. I went with an open mind and was expecting to walk away £100+ lighter. The store simply recommended that I try the Aspire K3. I came away rather sceptical that a pen style e-cigarette was going to do its job?

For me it suits my needs perfectly, no faffing with voltage, just press the button and smoke. The pull/cloud is similar to a regular cigarette, only coughed a couple of times at the beginning. At this time no desire to upgrade, other than purchase a backup in the event that one packs up.

Since then its been 3 weeks and I have absolutely no desire to go back to a cigarette. The juice is from the Vaping Warehouse (.co.uk) my preferred is the Lemonade and Lime. I have dropped down from 18mg to 12mg, with no pangs at all. I am under no pressure but hope to reduce the nicotine to a low level by the end of the year.

Friends and family have been impressed and absolutely supportive, usually when I declare that I quit - I am met with another 'okaaaay' ;)

Can someone recommend me a pen style vape(r) please?

I don't have a problem not smoking during the day but I'm looking for something small to take on nights out so don't want one of the big box things.

I'm pretty skeptical of walking into one of the vaping shops and asking as most of them look dodgy as hell.

Been nicotine free for 5 weeks now, I can go a 9 hours at work and not go outside for a vape, a tank of juice is now lasting me days instead of hours.

Won't be long I think until I totally stop, have about 700ml of 0mg DIY juice to use up first though.

I have been using various ones over the years and some boxes and drippers. My favourite still is the Kangertech Subvod Mega TC. Lovely flavour. Juice lasts ages. Tastes pretty good (although I have a problem across all types I have tried, this is one of the better ones). If it is too large, the plain Subvod is a little smaller. Battery lasts ages and it is very simple to use...no faffing with.

However, there are newer models around so perhaps look up the Smok Brit One and the Aspire Pockex and Kangerteck Kpin. All in a similar price bracket on Myepack £24-£30.

However, point to not, some of the "box style" things in that price range are pretty compact either height wise of width wise so not a terrible choice either. Personally, I would look to one of those because they are easier to fire up without constantly having to turn a pen style to locate a button. The grip will fit your hand better (as I said, see if you prefer taller and thinner or shorter and thicker) and the button location is right to hand.

But go into one of the vape stores and look, touch and feel to make certain. You may be surprised and take a smaller box style. They all usually allow you to try the devices. They have clearomisers fitted with "condoms" and you can try all the different styles and make a selection.

Have fun

You want FA Flash Hit enhancer if you want more of a throat hit. Their Vape Wizard softens acidic/sour flavours to give the impression of a richer vape.

FH enhancer can make a 1.5mg juice, have the throat hit of an 18mg juice. Depends how much you add.

Gone ahead and ordered this along with a couple of Liquido Zero flavours with 40% FH added. Will report back on 0mg and 40% FH. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the heads up. Hoping it works

Thanks for the reply.

Went in to a shop at lunchtime yesterday and bought an Aspire K2. Happy enough with it so far and if it gets me off the cigs on a night out it’ll pay for itself in no time.

I can see how this malarkey gets addictive even without nicotine as there’s loads of kit and flavour options to try out. :D

40% sounds like an awful lot. 4% is probably more suitable.

As I complained about a few pages up, I am going DTL on 18 mg with a dual coil RDA at 40 w - 50 w and my Smok AL85 at similar watts and no throat hit. Seriously. I have people b trying it out, coughing, vomiting and fainting (well maybe not the last two :-) ) and I get nothing. You and another kind soul suggested this so I went about half way up the strengths with a couple of flavours at 50/50. Also bought a 100% strength unflavored one to add to current juices.

If I do not post back how it went, we will be able to confirm that 40% was way too strong :-D

Enjoy your new kit. I prefer not to call it an addiction. More of a hobby. As you experiment and get more experienced (flavours, strengths, mixes, draw, heat, airflow, form factor etc) you will get a better appreciation for what you like and kit yourself out accordingly.

Don't know what cigarettes go for nowadays but probably in the £8-£10 a packet. So, depending on your habit, a week or fortnight worths of analogues buys you your kit (without even starting on the health benefits).

Welp, I had a vape stick I picked up in Poland for my wedding, but I dropped it a month ago, went back to smokes... Yuck. This time, took it seriously and did some research for a better tank and mod.

Got a elead ipower 80w mod and a nautilus 2 tank. Loving the combo, the mod is brilliant! Battery lasts me around a week and the tanks 2ml capacity goes for a day or 2. Absolutely loving it.

However, my main issue is I prefer DTL and the throat hit is a bit much, I've tried both the 0.8ohm (@21.5w) and the 1.7ohm (@12.5w) coils and both give the same throat hit, I'm smoking 6mg nicotine 65/35 mixes. So not sure what else to do? Lowering the wattage helps a little, but loses flavour fast. Any ideas?

I'd say it's the 6mg nic, try and drop it to 3mg, got an N2 myself, the 0.8 coils have more flavour than the 1.7's.

Bought some coils for my old Cleito today. Not used it in over a year. Cloud beast eating juice too much. Have to get used to vaping lower wattage again but should be better for a while.
