Yeh I got some spitback on the DR myself but I lowered the coils a bit and pushed them more to the side and I haven’t got any spitback when I’ve used it.

Although I’m waiting on my therion bf squonk mod to come through, FT keep pushing the date back lol. Once I get that then I’ll pair that up with my DR and my entheon, which just landed today on my doorstep. Haven’t had a chance to build on it yet but will do later tonight and see what the hype is all about lol.

Ended up with the authentic entheon in the end, got a nice little bonus last mth so thought I’d splurge a bit. Most expensive rda I have at the moment lol.
 
ok all, im about to start mixing my own juice. Just wanting some tips before i start. Ill go over the instructions I got from a mate.

He told me to order the following for the flavour I want from Vapable:
VG 1 litre
PG 1 litre
Wild capella cherry concentrate 30ml (3x10ml)
Koolada 10pg perfumer's apprentice flavour concentrate

I like icey flavours and fruity flavours, blackcurrant being a particular favourite but im trying this on his advice.

Now he has told me as im 0nic now, for making 100ml bottles at a time, at a 70/30 mix, to pour 70ml of vg and 30ml of pg into a bottle, then add around 6 drops of the cherry and around the same of the menthol flavour into the bottle.

Then put the bottle in a pan of hot (not boiling) water for 1-2 hours. then remove and store overnight in a dark cupboard to steep.

Does this sound about right? It cant be that simple for this easy flavour can it?

I've got a mixing guide on the OP of this thread. Have a read of that. With all due respect, the instructions from your mate are terrible.

Will it make a difference with me wanting to do 0nic? and 70/30?

see im just confused as to when it comes to nicotine, as im not using it. If anyone can just tell me how much liquid i need to add into a bottle, then that would be great haha. Also though, they say theres no steeping times for Capella/FA in your guide mate, but when i look on other forums and stuff, people are steeping juices for 4-5days+?

Not sure what percentage you need for the Wild Cherry. I've used the Stevia based concentrates from Capella before and they're ridiculously sweet - they wreck your coils too. 3% would be a good guess though as that's what I mixed mine at.

E: Get your PG/VG from Darkstar. Should be a bit cheaper than Vapable. Pretty sure they sell both Capella & TFA concentrates too.

Edit : also, what steepage time would you advise for this recipe? And I'm guessing the hot water thing is not required just mix and leave in a cupboard?

I've ordered lemon 2, black cherry and orange cream all to mix in with a bottle of koolada. I'm assuming that they will be similar/same ratios gee? Ie 3 for the main flavour and 1.5 for the koolada?

Koolada is subject to taste, the more you add the more 'cooler' it'll feel, but I've found that it can mute flavours somewhat if you go overboard. I'd start with say 0.75% and see how you get on, can always add a little more.

I'd suggest you do some research on what percentages you need for the flavours you bought, E-Liquid-Recipes.com & AllTheFlavors.com is a good start. https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/ also. There's no real general rule for concentrates, some need high percentages some need low.

I recall seeing a post about recommending a cherry concentrate, again that's subject to taste. I would suggest you read up on the flavour profiles of some and see which one you like the sound of.

I've seen it before in this thread where people want to move onto DIY mixing, buy 3 concentrates, mix them up then complain their juice tastes like crap. Do some research, man. Same as you would when building a PC for the first time.

E: I don't steep my juices. Once you've mixed your liquid, give it a good shake and try it. If it tastes not quite there, put the cap on and leave it in a dark place. Go back to it 24hrs later and try again. Rinse repeat.

To begin with, im starting off with simple flavours. I think I should be able to crack mixing 2 flavours together. Ive had a play around with the calculator and it shows that if I want to use 4% (As advised on Darkstars website on the flavour) Then Id add 4mls. and if i want 1ml of koolada thats 1% etc. Therefore I adjust the PG to suit (in this case 25ml, or 25%), but guessing the VG remains the same at 70ml (70%)? If thats right, it sounds like something I'll manage with. Now to just source a handful of 100ml bottles and I think im good to go. I've ordered the 1ml and 10ml syringes, and i nabbed a couple of 20ml syringes from work so I should be all good on that front.

No worries, give me a shout if you have any other questions. I'm pretty active on the OCUK Discord server so you can ping me on there if you're a member.

Your VG will pretty much always stay the same (unless you're using VG Nic, which in this case you aren't).

The only thing that's changing is the amount of PG you'll need. Most of the concentrates you'll be using will be PG based, which is why the amount of raw PG you add will change.

I'd highly recommend picking up a set of scales (http://amzn.eu/go0dWBr) and mixing by weight as opposed to volume. It's a hell of a lot easier and you'll have less to clean up afterwards.

For what it's worth, I get my bottles from ibottles.co.uk (https://www.ibottles.co.uk/products...t-plastic-ldpe-dropper-bottle-stubby-tip.html). I also use two of these (https://www.ibottles.co.uk/products...-plastic-bottle-natural-white-or-black-2.html) for storing my PG & VG. 500ml ones should be fine, just select the 28mm nozzle & captive caps.
 
Whoever recommended the Serpent SMM RTA, THANK YOU. This thing is amazing, once you get the wicking right (took me a few goes!)

Sitting at 50w with a 5 wrap fused clapton, and the flavour is so nice!
 
Serpent SMM is a great tank, probably the only tank I use as I’m now more of a rda/squonk vaper.

Once you get the wicking right, it really shines and eats juice like crazy :/.
 
My only complain with the SMM is that it occasionally seems to weep a little from the top cap. I can't see exactly where it comes from but the rest of the tank is so good I'm willing to forgive it.

Yeah, I may have to start dabbling with DIY to offset the cost of the amount of juice I'm using!

I haven't noticed any leaking at all yet, but I'll keep an eye out.

I may treat myself to a Bravo RTA when they're actually available; I've always tended to favour dual coil setups, so it'll be interesting to see the difference.

The Blue, Gold, Gun Metal and Stainless Steel ones are in stock on Fasttech. Think I'm gonna wait until the Black one comes in before I order though.
