I didn't want to spend too much in case i didn't get on with it but for the past hour i've been puffing away on this thing like mad lol.

Couple of questions:

-How do people smoke these things? take a similar amount of puffs as you would from a cigarette and put it down or just pick it up every so often and take a couple of puffs? Basically i'm not sure what is overdoing it.
-How long do the liquids last? I bought 2 x 10ml Dekang, 1 strawberry and the other Kiwi. The guy in the store says each lasts about a week but a quick google just now had people saying they use more than that in a day!

Usually I smoke about 100g of golden virginia a month and have done for the past 20 odd years. I've started putting on weight recently so decided to start jogging again 2 days ago which i haven't done since my 20's and i barely made it one mile before my chest tightened right up and could barely breathe, it stayed like that til the next day so all ash trays, tobacco etc went straight in the bin. Hopefully this vaping malarkey can finally get me off cigs.

Vape as much as you need to satisfy yourself buddy, once you find a juice you really enjoy that gives you that satisfaction then you might find you put it down more or even less if your like me! haha.

Generally when vaping I just vape when ever I feel sometimes that can mean il takke a puff every couple of mins or even as little as a few times an hour. You will know when your if your over doing it and I find I rarely ever do so.

As to how long your juice will last, well thats dependent on how much you vape and for me personally a 30ml bottle can last me a month sometimes or it can last me 2 weeks. As you get along you will figure out your vaping habits and it will become much clearer :).


Just make sure you dont leave that device on charge unattended okay? Those kind of chargers dont always have protection built in.

Cheers mate, sounds like i need to worry less about the minutiae and just get on with it :)

Re charging i might nip out later and get a second battery then, i had planned on just letting this one charge overnight but better safe than sorry i suppose.

Definitely never do that bro ^_^.
When one is low have another battery to switch too.

Once you get to the bigger mods like what most of us vape we usually take our batteries out and charge them in proper dedicated and safe charging stations.

These usb chargers dont all come with protection and can be dangerous if left unattended.

That's fine, the one i bought this morning is really just to see if i like it or not so was cheap. I only paid £31 total for the kit and 2 bottles of juice [edit - and a spare coil] so another battery and i'll still only have spent what i would in a month on tobacco anyway.

I'll admit i'm surprised at how much i'm liking it so far. Everytime i've seen someone puffing on one i always thought "that can't possibly be as good as smoking", i couldn't have been more wrong. It also all sounded so complicated whenever i read this thread too, i kept popping in every so often and thinking about it but i didn't have a clue what most people were talking about with the lingo :p

I'll use this one for the month so i don't feel like i've wasted money then look at getting something a little better. The only fault i find with it so far is i'm having to draw on it a bit more than i'd like to get a decent mouthful before inhaling so hopefully a better one will solve that :)

As said, vape as much as you feel you want/need. What strength juice have you got?

Those batteries and chargers are not to be left unattended. Ever.

Yeah KGD is all I use, best wick out there. For now.
 
The juice is 24mg, the guy in the shop asked what and how much i smoked a day then told me to start with that and reduce it as time goes on if i want to.

One more thing i forgot to ask. Does the battery drain when you leave it turned on? For example i press the button 5 times to turn it off or on and when it's on i just hold the button down to use it. I keep forgetting to press it 5 times to turn it off completely.

I never turn off my rDNA or SX350 unless its going in my pocket. You should be fine. :)

also, 24mg! That is quite high you know. 12 or 18mg would be more like it imo. Have you given yourself a headrush yet!? :D
 
A little bit earlier yeah. I had assumed that was because i was sucking on it like a babe at the teat though so started trying to calm down a bit. It just tasted so good :p

24ml gives me sweats :p

They just banned vaping on work premises though as the smokers have become very bitter about it so I picked up a bottle of 24 so I can stealth vape a few puffs and be set for a while

18-24 is a good shout to a new vaper using a fixed voltage 'standard' resistance coil. Most people don't start dropping much until they start using better atties and higher volts. I'm a strange one that still uses 18-24 as my normal juice and higher for stealth vaping.
 
I built some coils on my dripper (plumeveil clone)

1st one, i used small screwdriver that came with it, was around 2ohms or so with 28awg kanthal.... Was pretty good actually.

I've been having a random fluctuation of ohms (IPV 2) it jumps to like 5ohms or so and then you can really notice the extra power draw. (is this the IPV2, or the coil is just ****? FYI im using nautilus mini and it never does this)

Today i built a coil using 28awg, on a 3mm (roughly) diameter screwdriver, was going for around 2ohms again or so, reading at 2.5, i put a 50/50 juice instead of 100% VG as i did in day 1... Really really really strong with less vapour, dont think it is only the juice.

Next thing is that... dam how springy the wire is, i want to buy some thicker wire and was thinking 0.45mm / 25AWG from http://www.e-cigaretteclub.com/mod-accessories-29-c.asp

Any tips?... Also, if anyone has a good online shop that accepts something other than paypal, would be helpful, otherwise i cannot buy from them if they only do paypal.
 
I think that's an issue with the IPV2 platinum, have seen a few vids/posts about it on facebook groups.

As for the wire, have you tried torching it red (well, orange) hot before you coil with it? I do it with butane torch from fasttech that cost a fiver or so, and seems to work a charm! It doesn't completely remove the spring, but certainly helps. You can do the same thing with a blue flamed lighter also, or even over your cooker assuming its gas!
