Well I've just had this email response from VapeEscape:

"Hi Liam

There isn't a widespread problem with Evod batteries and it in fact only affected a small batch sent to one specific Kanger Distributor.

Your kit isn’t from that distributor, so isn’t affected.

We can test your batteries here, but first it’s worth cleaning the contact on the charger and trying an alternative charging source (such as a mains adapter) because it is very unlikely that you have 2 faulty batteries.

Personally, I get around 3-4 hours use out of a 650mah battery – but, this can obviously vary depending on the amount of use.

Not exactly the answer I was looking for, and to me it seems that the problem is either down to 2 faulty batteries or a faulty USB lead. I can't charge the batteries via the mains plug as the mains adapter I received was a Euro one hhmm...

I've just rummaged long and hard around the house and found one, just charging one of the dead Evod batteries now.

Edit - the exact same thing has just occurred as before - the LED on the USB cable turns to green within 15 minutes :mad:

My eGo USB charger only works properly if I tighten it and the loosen about 1/4 of a turn. Does your charge LED flicker/change colour if you loosen

Both of my chargers have always worked as soon as the batteries are tightened up. I've just tried loosening it 1/4 of a turn but the LED just stays the same colour.

been using the kts mod all weekend its grown on me, i was too harsh on it originally, apart from the button being awkward its a decent bit of kit. not a patch on the vamo though for the same price

 
Stupid question time gents:

How can I prevent my eliquid being burnt in the tank? After using my Protank for the last week or two, I've noticed that the liquid is changing colour quite quickly. I've been vaping GVC recently which is a lightish caramel colour in the bottle, but after a day or two in use in the tank, it starts turning into a dark brown. When I add new liquid to the tank, you can visibly see the two different colours.

It may be a placebo but I'm sure the flavour changes for the worst when this starts occurring.

Am I doing something wrong and is there a way to prevent it?

Depends if it is burnt junk or not. If it is then you need to change / clean the coil (or maybe remove a flavour wick) Juice will always change colour in a tank as the juice is oxidised faster as the liquid is hot from the coil. If you keep a bottle of juice in sunlight you'll see the same thing happen only more slowly. It is just nicotine reaction with oxygen, heat speeds this process up a lot.

You can also just chuck the tiny amount left before refilling. Maybe not every time now and then.
 
Thanks for that, I try and keep the wick and coils clean and give them a clean once every few days (every 2-3 tanks or so), at first it was OK and didn't change the colour of the liquid but recently I've cleaned the tank, wick and coils, popped new eliquid in there, and by the end of the tank it's noticeably darker in colour and tastes somewhat different (more creamy/slightly burnt in the case of GVC)

I may start swapping the Protank heads every week and see if that helps it.
 
Over the weekend I thought: I will change my wick and coil on my RSST to boost performance and flavour!

What happened: spent an hour trying to get the wick to fit the coil or vice-versa to avoid hotspots, twizzling the wick around to get rid of shorts, and after all that, the wick was rubbish and just wouldn't wick well enough. In the end I put the old wick back in place with the new coil. It works really well now.

Lesson: if it works well enough, don't fix it!

Make sure you give it a clean, they turn black quickly at the metal and then this can happen. Make sure your battery is dry at the contact point as well...
 
just wondering if this set up will work? the battery says

that will work with the CE4 clearomiser right?

So almost a week with my provari and protank and have to say its absolutely brilliant, glad i spent the extra and went for a decent setup. Im now down to 3 cigs a day but with the provari i dont feel like smoking a cig but its through habit that i do. I imagine by end of this week, ill have given up cigs as a whole which is what i want to do.

At the moment im using bubble gum e liquid as i find it very nice, ordered some more from creative vapes, one is 12mg of nic and the other is 18mg of nic so am going to see which one suits me best and stick with that.

Ordered 3 protanks from fasttech fri so am waiting for them to arrive so i can fill them up with raspberry, strawberry and apple tart that i got earlier on in the week from Simon.
