@Redmogg, when i change flavours on my T2 i usually flush out the tank with water using a syringe, give it a good shake so water comes out through the wick. Empty it, then keep burning the wick until no vaper comes out and u see the coil glow, then leave it overnight for the tank to dry out, works most of the time for me.
iirc pbusardo does it at the end of his Aga T2 review

Will give it another flush through, and see if the coffee goes - have seen the excellent PBs video, but he does mention strong flavours can linger on the wick. The Tiramisu was certainly strong...
Lucky for me I have a decent backup... :p

+1...

...million.

I'm trying other flavours on the Aga T2, using the mesh wick as a dripper. The Apple Tart is great, but better online the ProTank.

I prefer it on the AGA T2, but I'm using a silica wick and blast it with 4.8v. It produces more favour and the cinnamon really comes out. The ProTank is too airly and better for methanol or minty vapes

Can anyone comment on using mesh vs silica on the same device? Often wondered what the benefits would be, I've just started rewicking/coiling myself. Will probably put some fine mesh on my next order

trust message sent, i honestly cant say enough good things about simon and his juices, he is a fantastic fella and they are all lovely. A perfect match to go with custard as they are of very similiar high standard :)

Hi,
could you email his address as well, and is there a website he frequents?

There are pros and cons. Mesh gives a better flavour, but is an absolute ******* to set up when you first start using it due to the coil shorting out on the mesh. What atomiser you use will determine how easy/hard that process is. You get better at it with practice though.

Silica is just easy, but if you pump a lot of wattage through the coil you can get a funky taste more easily than with mesh. Also, silica wicks deteriorate after a few rinses (not a big deal since they're easy to replace), whereas mesh wicks seem to last months if you keep cleaning them every now and then.

I'll admit, I'm a convert to mesh since I got my RSST, but there are times I yearn for the simplicity of silica with my Nova!

TY. How on earth do you stop shorts?! I'll check a few videos when I get home

Does anyone know if these are knock-offs?
Wife purchased two Protanks from Fasttech, normally wouldn't assume anything was wrong as they came in the same kind of packaging like the one she got from Apollo (New 2013), but she's having massive leakage problems with them and they're gurgling an awful lot. No such issues with the first one she bought.

You can clearly see there are several differences in design on the below pic (Apollo one on the left, Fasttech on the right), even the Kanger logo isn't etched like the one she got from Apollo.

It seems impossible (and when you first try it, it feels that way too), but the Peter K method has given the best results for me:

You essentially wrap your coil around something the same diameter as your wick, remove the placeholder and attach the coil to the atomiser, pulsing it until it glows red a good few times. THEN, you pop your rolled wick in after giving it a quick torch over the hob, and pulse the coil. If it shorts (ie, the coil only glows a bit of the way), then you twist the wick a smidgen. Pulse, and repeat until it glows bright red the whole way down and you lack finger prints.

That method obviously only works for atomisers that take a straight wick. If you need a U-wick, then I have no idea!

This is the updated version of the ProTank apparently.

Mine looks like the one on the left and I got it from Apollo. Can't say I've had any issues with gurgling on the standard heads, the only time I had that was when I removed the top wick as mentioned on various forums. It also seems to happen when I get down about 1/5th of liquid in the tank.

Mine looks like the one on the right - from Slow tech. Been perfect and the first head lasted 9days. Removed the top wick on the new head and apart from immediately after filling, I've had no gurgling.

Just ordered a batch of samplers from Scope, a genuinely pleasant chap to deal with and he's sending some out tomorrow for delivery on Friday - I can't wait :D

Now, if anyone finds a Starbuzz Blue Mist Hookah flavored eliquid anywhere, I will literally bite your hand off for some :p

I've bought two of these so far - one from Vape Escape and one from Sweet Cloud, the little shop down the road from me. Both look like the one on the left.

Looking at the link Smokedog posted though, the writing on the new version doesn't look the same as the Fasttech ones?

Can you link the one she bought? They have both real and 'copies' on fasttech. Unless it says Kanger in the name it is a copy. real protank and copy of protank

At least that is what I've picked up from UKV.

@whistleblower, the one on the right, is that a rubber grommet i can see near the bottom of the centre post? as there is none on the left one, are the 2 bases where the coils screw in the same?
I may be wrong but i have noticed on fastttech there is a protank knockoff on the site, but it doesnt say 'Kanger' on the tank or in the description.
Oh and my protank is also the same as the left one.

When comparing devices or atomisers, be aware that manufacturers often make small revisions/redesigns to their products. I have a few atomisers, all genuine that have little differences here or there.

I have two Protanks from Fasttech. They both have identical logos. One has the mouthpiece shape of that on the left but the base of the one on the right. The other has the mouthpiece of the right and base of the left.
