Just tasted some of my DIY juice... Colour me impressed. Only been steeping for 2 days. Made some French vanila and banana split, would give monkey jizz a run for its money.

Got some custard and banana ripe steeping, got a feeling that's going to taste epic. No point tasting that yet. Custard needs at least 2 weeks steep.

fudging hell my protank one is being an ass and i cant get it off the SVD.
I can either undo the top half or tighten it down a lot and then remove the whole thing, I cant get the whole thing off and open the protank to clean it for new liquid though. BAH!

Get some rubber gloves on and try again. For future, tighten tanks onto devices with a very light touch. It's also so very easy to push down the SVD centre pin by overtightening.

unfortunately with the protank if I dont tighten it more than my others it barely works.
Anyway its been a case of overtightening the top or overtightening onto the SVD to try and get some lee way. This last time was almost impossible to get it off the svd itself so now I have about 2mm of that knurled metal at the bottom of the protank to try and grab to remove the upper and lower section. It's going to be a long one -.-

Open the atomiser up and make the positive pin peep out slightly. This will solve your issues. Watch the video review of the Protank 2 from Todd, he does it.

Got all my mixing stuff coming tomorrow and I have ejuice Me Up calculator all ready :) thanks Crowort\smokedog and the rest for your help ;)

Rolled a new coil at .8 Ohms on the DID - Waiting on kanthal ribbon to make a neater coil as im running twisted coil to achieve that resistance.

EDIT - The new coil produces intense flavour with medium throat hit its enough not as much as before but my god the flavour has come out like never before O_o.

Hope im not overburning the flavour or anything and turning it into a something unhealthy formaldehyde ??

Yep, the replacement coils have pretty much no QC - some work, some don't, some burn out within a day, some last for a month. I regard the protank as only worthwhile if you can recoil it yourself. It took me about a hour to learn, and I'm bloody useless with anything like that. It's a great design, with very poor execuation. Mine's gone from being a leaky, temperamental little *******, to amazing with a few tweaks.

Silica Wick (1 Metre) (VE521)
Wick Size 2mm Wick

Kanthal Wire (5 Metres) (VE522)
Kanthal Gauge 0.2mm Wire

That's what I use (£5) although I didn't bother shopping about, just used a place I knew was reliable and trustworthy. I just used a guide from youtube and checked ukvapers.

This is Protank 1, but the 2 isn't massively different. Everyone will have an opinion on the wire resistance and thickness of wick, but sometimes it's easier to learn how to do it as simply as possible then adjust accordingly. Turns out this is perfect for me. People told me about the difference in quality, but I didn't understand until I got it right (4th and 5th attempts were the successful ones I think, 1st and 3rd didn't work, 2nd burnt out after a few mins :p

Anyone got the protank v2 ?

I have two, and several V1's, both are good but being able to break down the V2 to clean it is a winner. Its a slightly tighter vape than the V1 too, which is good. :)

Just about to try some Kings Custard..... After so much GVC first impressions are that its the wrong colour! lol

I have a good feeling I'll get it right on my first or second attempt. I used to race RC cars on a semi-pro level and was always tinkering with my motors and batteries and ECU etc. Only downside I can see is the fact I don't have an Ohm-meter...
