The Walking Dead Season 3 (contains spoilers)

I agree with Castor regarding the limb loosing stuff :p

Anything that happens to any of the characters like that especially the main character/leader is a pretty big deal and would make for great viewing IMO.

As Jay has pointed out certain stuff has already been put in motion as we have seen from episode 13 of S2 and is pretty obvious that they will follow the plot in the comics, however, as we all know, it will not be the same regarding timing of events and some events may not even happen and I wouldn't be surprised if they throw in new scenes, side story lines etc.

We know the location of the start of season 3, other than that it could go in any way they choose fit, I can't see them doing most of what happens in the comics as it will be unrealistic.

....It's a zombie apocalypse? pretty sure realism is the last thing on their minds (Hershall, God Mode lol)

Please stop spamming my thread, we're here to discuss WD, if you're just here to argue, you know where the door is, if you're here to post comments like "I think this will happen in season 3, because in the comics this happens" or something along those lines, we welcome your contributions

How am I spamming it?

How was that post not discussing TWD?

YOUR thread, WE welcome your contribution, I know where the door is - You like to think a lot of yourself don't you :D

Like I said before, don't throw a teenage strop like you tend to do when people disagree with you.

Yes they could completely side drift from the comics and do something like what I said in my first post in this thread and that is still very possible.

But as I said in the other thread, I am sure that they will still use some material from the comics (for all we know they could stick to the comics completely [not likely but still...]) like they have done for season 1 and 2 and therefore this thread does contain potential spoilers.

As for stuff not being realistic, well as soon as they introduced michonne with the 2 zombies on chains (for the reasons already stated), that has pretty much got to be the most un realistic scene/reason yet, and all the stuff that Jay has posted on the last page doesn't sound that un realistic at all and definitely not any worse than the Michonne introduction scene.

IRF1985, You're reading far to much into things,

You can put inflictions and emphasis on anything to change is meaning.

And yeah, this is my thread, I created it.

So stop trolling, either discuss WD or get out. Wait a sec Add to Ignore List

Moving on,

Despite how they introduced Michonne in the last episode, I hope she plays such a prominant role in the next series as she does in the comics. They were saying on the Talking Dead that her and Daryl are people favourite characters.

Just annoyed that we have to wait till October for season 3

I'm just hoping they can get to grips with Carl's character, be it better writing/direction/acting, as right now he's probably the most hated person in the series.
His transformation from innocent kid to hardened, almost sinister survivor is great in the comics, be a shame to screw it up in the show.

I think they rushed the 'hardening' of Carl.

One minute he's a little kid crying over losing his zombie friend and being a general little cry baby, to standing in front of the execution telling his Dad to shoot a hostage and then shooting Shane in the face.

Shocking writing all the way through S2 after Darabont left :/

If they follow the comics, carl attempts to grow up, his dad doesn't like it, so he stays a snivelling little wimp lol

Loving how carl has to be watched all the time, as if him being alone is going to cause some mass horror.....oh wait..... it did lol

His character appears pretty pointless to start with but in the comics he at least tries to man up a few times by killing a few zombies. I wonder if they'll keep carl the pointless character that he is, or where they'll actually allow him to grow a backbone and get involved with stuff

IF they follow the comics.

They haven't so far so why would they, being such an avid reader of the comics you should know that Carl and Sophia had pretty big parts to play and as you well know they can't do that anymore so like I've been saying all along, lets just watch the TV series and see how it pans out.

All the "but in the comics" is pointless as it doesn't follow the same story.

Why do people even like The Walking Dead to start with? I like it because its different, it has some action, zombies, morals and survival.. amongst other things.

Are people watching it expecting it to be just full episodes of killing zombies or something? I had always assumed it was more about the people more than zombies, with the morals, dilemmas and such.

I enjoyed Season 2 for the most part, got quite into the characters, except a few (lori is irritating, as is Carl...I loved Dale though :'()

It comes across to me like that as well, some people just want non stop action with zombies heads being blown off every 5 minutes and for everyone to be constantly in danger and to not even do sensible stuff (granted they still don't even do sensible stuff anyway :p) and just stay in the city barricaded in buildings for temporary stays and to avoid areas, which are safe from a ton of zombies just for lolz......

As the writers and other people have said, the show isn't about that.

It is strange, I mean people would assume that a zombie apocalypse refers to some sort of Evil Dead/Army of Darkness-esq apocalypse in which the characters would be constantly running from a threat every episode with no rest.

Gotta admit, I was sort of expecting a Pyramid Head type character to turn up, then I remembered, this isnt Resident Evil lol

Been confirmed Michael Rooker will return as Merle Dixon in Season 3, minus one hand. :)

His been slimming down too, lost 20 pounds for Season 3.

Edit: Hope it's not some random 2min walker only cameo...

They haven't so far so ...

All the "but in the comics" is pointless as it doesn't follow the same story.

The main story arcs are following the comics as a source material - but some of the smaller narratives are very different, and allow readers of the comics to still enjoy the show with some plot changes & variations.

I had always assumed it was more about the people more than zombies, with the morals, dilemmas and such.

This has always been the main driver for the writers - nobody has invisaged a Resident Evil / Day of the Dead style series in either medium. I think, although slightly tedious at times, it offers a fresh stance on a television series; I've certainly never watched anything like it before. :)

As the writers and other people have said, the show isn't about that.

Exactly.

I think Merle's return will add an interesting dynamic to the group dispositif - replacing the tension between Rick & Shane. I imagine with his return, Darryl will once again come to the front-row - something I greatly welcome as Reedus is a terrific actor.

I'm purely speculating now, but predict there will be some form of race-driven tensions between the Dixon brothers and T-Dog; my guess would be a climax with Darryl having to choose between his 'changed brother' and his fellow survivor whom a bond has developed.

I'm happy to see what comes of the series but if I had chance to speak directly to the producers, it would be to request some consistancy with the Zombie behaviour; earlier walkers showed the intelligence to climb ladders, use bricks to smash panes of glass, use door handles etc yet in the latter episodes they are utterly stumped by a simple 5 bar gate...

Please decide; are they the idiotic, partially-comatose, flesh-seeking shells or are they the reanimated corpses, using everything at their disposal to gain the next meal! :D

It should be a great episode seeing the central character shift from Rick to Darrel, having to choose between the group and his brother, however they decide to bring Merle back into into.

Maybe he'll have been rescued by the Woodbury group, that could make for an interesting idea

For some reason I thought Merle would come back as the Governor seeing as they don't seem to be sticking to the comics as much. Though him finding or being found by Woodbury would make more sense, plus they seem like his sort of crowd haha

On the talking dead they confirmed that the actor who played merle was originally going to play the Governor, but they said, as that's way too predictable they weren't going to do it, so they cast someone else
