The Walking Dead Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Well it looks like the people who didn't like season 2 aren't going to like season 3 at all either :p

The Walking Dead director Ernest Dickerson - who is helming the season three premiere - recently claimed that the season will focus more on a "human menace" and less on the zombie threat.

"It's really important to focus on making the story as richly character-driven as possible," Hurd confirmed. "Because the scares and the sense of jeopardy only come with identifying with those characters when they're in jeopardy.

"It's really a marathon this year. The challenge is maintaining the same intense level of storytelling that our audience expects of us, and we certainly plan to deliver on that."

There's character driven and then there are drawn out boring episodes, the first half of Season 2 was excruciatingly slow, they could have easily cut out 3 episodes without ruining the season.

To be fair though, the governor and all that is associated with that story line is a lot more concerned with the human element anyway and the zombies take a back seat, but no doubt people will moan about the lack of zombies in a zombie program.

YAY MERLE IS BACK! Season 3 is going to be all sorts of win. Have the other seans full HD, will have to watch again before it starts :)

I won't get my hopes up. As has been said, season 2 was dissapointing. But, i hope to be proven wrong. I hope that season 3 will be consistently good and entertaining (emphasis on the entertain part).

Why does that matter?

Do things have to be released/shown first in order to talk about them? :p

The season is going to be based on the comic, it will just go it's own way though regarding some stuff.

Also we have trailers and info. on this season, so might as well post it somewhere and this thread is exactly what that is for.

I'm wondering if season four will be true to the comics - I really doubt it but then they won't be able to use the comics as source material. I'm looking forward to season 3 but getting more excited to see what happens in season 4!
If they stay close to the source then that promises to be the best season imo.

They will never stay completely true to the comics, they will follow the same story arc/scene etc. however, change it around so that even the people who have read the comics won't know what will happen, IIRC they said this in an interview as they like to keep the fans guessing as to what will happen rather than just knowing before the episode has even aired.

Looking forward to the Governor :D

I've just finished reading the 'Rise of the Governor' I recommend reading it to anyone looking forward to S3 :)
