***The Wine Thread***

I would do the opposite! 95 Léoville will likely be in the late part of its drinking window and if not stored poorly that will have accelerated. I'd probably give it 30 mins with the cork out and then have a taste. Too long open and poorly stored I would expect it to fall apart faster than normal.
Ah good to know! I was assuming it would be treated much like a younger wine, so thanks for the education! Everyday is a school day :)

I see @randomshenans is spamming GD now he has time on his hands :p
I've already come up with a new dating app in my 3 days being off work... this is why I shouldn't be allowed time off!! I've redone my office, been to ikea and everything. Made a christmas wreath and garland (never done that before but it's bloody amazing!) and I'm now officially Lord Ross Alexander Jones (having bought one of those stupid things off the internet) so yea... it's been 3 days. Wait until tomorrow! I'm building a 2 stroke push bike :D

Yea, used to get some of that in a primi selection from Silkes wein place in germany. It's not bad, but nothing to blow you away. I think it gets a 3.8 or something and comes up on the lighter side of a primi compared to the heavy 62.

For the money I would always go: https://www.vivino.com/FR/en/vigneti-del-salento-primitivo-di-manduria-zolla/w/1926947

It's a bit richer and price point is spot on! It's the sort of wine you can take to someone's house and feel like you've given them something really nice without spending a fortune :P

Gosset BdB is absolutely wonderful.
For the money it's very very good. I really rate the Delamotte BdB but it's about 45-8 per bottle so you can't knock that price.

I haven't bought anything special for this year tbf. Weird on your own, just not feeling it as much. I have spent my money elsewhere lol and that being said, I still get told "we need to split the wine" so I'll need to hide some key bottles before that happens. No chance she's having a couple I spent ******* ages finding. She never put the work into that **** :P

Might have a bottle of Louis 242 for Christmas though. Seems like the thing to do.

19 Crimes is a strange one for me. It's clever marketing for what appears to be substandard wine. The standard "Red Wine" is non descript. The "Uprising" I tried at the weekend was intensely sweet - so much that I looked up sugar content to see what extras had been added. To me its marketed towards people who don't like red wine - as strange as that sounds. Uprising was easy drinking and after half a bottle it went down well, very smooth. I see they are promoting a Snoop one too with...candied fruit pieces?
Completely agree
