The Witcher 2 - Thread

after a very slow start, i am getting in to The Witcher now. Still not crazy about the combat, and it does seem to be a bit buggy, but it's improving, and i will certainly stick with it now that i have finished Assassin's Creed Brotherhood:)

How long is it on average btw?

Took me 27 hours to complete, didn't do all quests however and the game was very good to be honest.

What's the actual release date for part 2 then? i may of missed it if it was posted?

Still not sure on this, would prefer a demo of some kind to see how it runs on my pc as The witcher runs poorly at the moment, at full settings getting about 10-25 fps in the swamp in chapter 2

It uses the NWN engine which is terrible on modern hardware (or jsut terrible full stop!) so that's why you're seeing issues.

Hopefully a new engine for this one will make it run and look much better at the same time.

BIG REMINDER!!! :)

lol at the quotes...kinda sums up my thoughts on DA2
I looked back on my experience with Dragon Age II afterwards, and BioWare's fantasy RPG now feels like it's in almost every way a mere toddler in the shadow of The Witcher 2. That's not to say DA II sucked, but a single village in The Witcher 2 already has more personality than all of Kirkwall

Sorry Hawke, but your cardboard persona is about to be witched in half. And Shepard? I still love you and I know you star in a different kind of RPG. But I'm really, really glad that your third space adventure is scheduled six months away from what will inevitably be Geralt's assassination of our social lives

Sounds like, providing it doesnt slip up, this could easily be one of the best PC exclusives this year (a lot like the first game)
