The Witcher 2 - Thread

I have everything maxed out excet for ubersampling and its running at a comfortable 45 FPS+ (SLI GTX 560s).

But there seems to be no AA being used, and forcing AA in the Nvidia control panel doesnt work?

Does anyone know if I can turn AA on in this game? I'm up to the monastery bit looking for a way into the back alley .... I'll try to figure it out, or simply use the guide if I get stuck :)

Yay for an included printed guide.

.... been awake for 22 hours with just 3 hours of rest last night, I am defying sleep until I pass out from playing :D

yeah but whats your gpu usage iv got evrything on ultra and both gpus arent maxing out

Oh, both are only at max 80%. 76 / 74 degrees @ 1 Ghz, 926 Mb Vram used, and over 40 FPS.

Everything is smooth as butter maxed out, except for the ubersampling thing which completely kills it down to 15 FPS.

The config tool should allow you to enable and disable AA.

All it says is Enabled, with an option for disabled, but I need more AA! How can I turn it up?

I tried forcing 8x supersample in the nvidia settings and it didnt improve anything.

Anyone else having some problems with parry (e) not responding sometimes after using a sign? It's incredibly annoying as it can end up in you losing half your health to a combo while not being able to dodge or move :( Noticed a similar thing with movement not responding unless you let go and repress it for some reason.

Also is it just me or is there no in-game controller key map function? Makes it hard to find out what keys to press to do stuff which just seems unreasonably backwards to me.

From what I've read, Parry uses vigor, as does your signcasting, so if you've used all your vigor up casting signs, you've got nothing left to parry with. Could be the same for dodging.

sli is realy poor for me getting around the same fps as you but only between 50 and 60% usage with 2 480s which seems realy poor

I think you need to turn on Ubersampling, but you said that destroys the FPS, so that seems a no go. :/

See, I gots SLI GTX 480 performance with silence and temperatures around 75 degrees :D

<3 GTX 560 ti. They just need to be overclocked, which they manage really well.

Theres no way to set the AA to somewhere inbetween? Thats really odd :(

Right now it looks like basic 4x MSAA, with jaggies all over walls and fences, I want some 4x - 8x SSAA :(

Can anybody reassign the movement keys?

I keep trying to move it from WASD to the arrow keys and it pretty much tells me to get stuffed... something about them being invalid :confused: It lets me reassign any other key except those, which is getting on my nerves because I've just played the original game using those movement keys and I don't want to have to switch just because the game doesn't like it =/

Annoying isn't it? Someone on the GOG forums posted the inifile tweaks you need to make to use the arrow keys. I'm not sure which inifile they have to go in though:

[Input]
KeyboardLayout=QWERTY

IK_Down=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftY,Value=-1.000000)
IK_Left=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftX,Value=-1.000000)
IK_Right=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftX,Value=1.000000)
IK_Up=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftY,Value=1.000000)

Yeah just found them and came to post it, but you beat me to it :) Thanks though.

If anyone else wants to use the arrow keys just overwrite these values found in the user.ini file located in your documents/witcher 2 folder.
