The Witcher 2 - Thread

Do not know if this has been posted, 1st review of the game: http://n4g.com/news/760509/cd-action-worlds-first-the-witcher-2-review/com

Can't wait.:D

I could not understand most of that. The translation was rather poor.

A and so does not experience the totality of what the developers have prepared for them. [...] Writer PlayStation 2 consists of three acts, fastened on both sides quite a long prologue and epilogue króciutkim. Unhurried transition and the total is about 24 hours.

Something about a prologue, then 3 chapters then an epilogue. Playstation 2?

Haha yeah it isn't great the translation but nice score though which is a good sign....hope it gets a lot of 9/10s but even if it doesn't i am still playing it!

i am still slowly plodding through the first game atm. It is getting better, but hardly the amazing game people seem to think imo. It is definitely going to be worth it though to get to the second game, which does look very good.
I probably will not even end up playing 2 for a few days, until i finish the first.

LOL, there was no way CD Action were not going to give this a great review/score.

That review(if it is a review?) must lose a lot in translation, because i can barely make out any of it tbh. Is there a better translator?

Yea, well then again DA2 got 9/10 - 10/10 just about everywhere .....

But c'mon, Witcher 2 is simply soooo much more awesome, and we all know that!

How long is TW roughly? i'm wondering when i will finish it. I am in a swamp atm. in act 2 i believe. Been there for ages.

I just read an overview of the story for the first game on Wikipedia and i didn't have a clue what it was talking about:D. Half of the events that it mentions, i can barely remember. That's the problem i'm having with it, I don't really know what the main plot is

40 hours easily if you do all the quests. I took around 35 hours and I skipped quite a lot. I did use the FCR mod however which increased the difficulty.

I honestly have a feeling this game will be known as one of the greatest rpgs of all time. Does anyone know when we can officially downloaf/play this game on steam? It says 2 days 15 hours untill game is unlocked but that means 6pm on tuesday :/ i hope it isnt

But it wont sell enough copies, CD Projeckt will go bankrupt, and then no one will make games like this anymore.

Well, thats the worst that could happen, european RPGs tend not to do well outside of Europe.

Yeah, i'm going to unistall FCR i think, as i said in the Witcher Mods thread earlier, i just don't get it. It seemed like a good idea, but doesn't really make much sense to me in practice

First one sold 1.7 million over time. This one could sell 2 million in first two months, people are way more hyped and CDP's marketing has been flawless.

Not to mention it is not just about number. For each copy sold on GOG, CDP gets ALL of the money - not just 70% like on steam or 20% like in retail. So even if it sells a lot less than console games, they could still make the same amount of money, or even more.

Bought. I have the first one on steam but never played it. Watched a preview for the second one and it looks fantastic. I love games with living breathing worlds.

Can we pre-load this? Don't see the option.

There is not an option because it's to stop before release piracy which helps the sales of the game by quite a bit.

Oh, didn't know you could pirate steam games that were pre-loaded. I always thought the last bit they left you to download on launch day was to stop this?

I think it's actually due to the fact that GOG (the developers own distribution platform) is offering pre-load (95% of the game). It's an extra incentive so people buy direct from them. I have mine pre-ordered through steam, not really fussed about pre-load as I'm not able to play it any time soon :( (damn exams).

This is a game thats never really been on my radar,no idea why really, but looking at the video's screenie's etc i think its looking like a must buy, would i be missing out on storyline etc by not having played the first game?,save me going through the whole thread.
Thanks.
