The Witcher 3 Dev: Recommended PC Specs Will Run It At 30FPS, Not 60FPS, Details On Graphics Effects

I doubt they are locking the fps. But hopefully what they mean is with the recommended specs at high/ultra settings you should get 30fps... This is actually quite low really, and probably indicates the game is a behemoth!

Fairly sensible statement as its going to be a graphically intensive game.

They can’t really put titan blacks as a minimum requirement and far too many other companies are releasing games with too high an expectation, it is good they are being realistic and making sure people are aware their software will be limited by current hardware.

Will save a lot of effort in the long run.

Indeed, and I'd rather have current hardware limiting the game then some of the dross we've gotten recently where despite having more than enough power the software is intentionally limited to be in line with consoles.

Think what the game will be like when hardware does catch up, could replace a modded Skyrim as ‘the game to screenshot’.

So a big thing for getting decent performance then will be how good the SLI/Xfire support is. Lets hope a lot better than most recent AAA releases.

Has no one learnt nothing from when Ubisoft tried to pull this crap?

Certainly, while I am pleased they are taken extra time and being realistic about the requirements the experence had better be top-notch from the start, very few excuses otherwise.

You know what im glad they have come out and said this! The stated recommended specs will run the game at 30FPS with all settings turned up. Least now i can tell what sort of FPS i would expect to get before buying. I hate devs that just throw recommended out there and its anyone's guess how the game will run at high settings.

I wish people would read the articles. The game is looking gorgeous and for that kind of detail, it comes at a cost of GPU grunt. I have no problem of devs dialing up the settings to make the game look better.
