The Witcher 3 Dev: Recommended PC Specs Will Run It At 30FPS, Not 60FPS, Details On Graphics Effects

Has no one learnt nothing from when Ubisoft tried to pull this crap?

Ay?

Didnt Ubisoft lock it to 30 and then proceeded to make up some bull about it being cinematic.

Not even the same as this.

They're stating that the recommended specs will run the game on ultra at 30fps. If you have above and beyond the recommended specs then you can run it at higher frames.

Unless i'm reading it wrong.

I wish people would read the articles. The game is looking gorgeous and for that kind of detail, it comes at a cost of GPU grunt. I have no problem of devs dialing up the settings to make the game look better.

I'm sure the grunt we have is better than consoles, so why limit consoles and pc to 30fps ?

CD Projekt were supposed to be a PC Developer, like Ubi, they are either being told to lock to 30fps or are full of **** with their PC promises. What I mean by that is we were promised an ultra setting, if the ultra setting is everything maxed at 30fps then that's comical.

so why limit consoles and pc to 30fps
its not limited to 30fps. read the article. He's saying the back of the box recommended specs will give you 30fps. If it recommends a 680 and you have a 980 you will get more than 30fps.

I wonder if this will be another stutter fest gameworks/nvidia sponsored title.... seems like pretty much every game which is sponsored by nvidia/gameworks is poorly optimised for both AMD and nvidia owners....

Only one gameworks title has ran pretty much spot on for me and that is shadows of mordor.

Read the article properly. They are saying that the recommended specs will give you 30fps at ultra at i guess 1080p.

If you have above the recommended specs then you will be able to achieve more than 30fps.

No where does it say PC is locked.

I am sure I read somewhere many months ago that at 1080p on Ultra a 780Ti averaged 40 fps. It's good to see games pushing the limits, it creates the demand for the likes of Nvidia and AMD to get a move on!

I literally want to curb stomp about half of posters in this thread.

I think this is what confused me...

Q: PC recommended specs will be able to run the game on 30 or 60 frames per second?

Adam: I think, we'll stick with 30 FPS

What are the recommended specs ?

At full settings though right?
Apparently its max settings at 1080p.

To be honest, yet again the headlines just seem to be trying to divert the attention away from the fact "next gen" consoles are struggling to output at 1080p on what would be "Pc Low" settings.

What are the recommended specs ?
I've seen 290 or 770 suggested with 8GB RAM and a i7 or amd 83xx series

It's not misleading.
Bear in mind the possible language barrier.

But they're saying very clearly, that the recommended spec will get the game at 30 FPS.

It probably won't actually be 30, more like around, depending on set ups etc etc.

So so so so so looking forward to this game. I loved the second and even now, it is still one of the best looking games out.

At the event where people got to playtest the game on all platforms, the PC build was running a 4790k and a 980.

Game was set to 'high preset' and none of the Nvidia stuff was in it yet(physx/fur/txaa ect ect)

FPS rate was 'running above 30,with dips below 30' apparently.

Soo yea, game requires massive amounts of GPU power if you want eyecandy/60 fps

Edit: When it comes to reccomended specs i generally assume they will run the a given game at 60 fps at around mid/high preset.Generally been a pretty accurate barometer for me,except for the worst of ports.

TW3 might be a different matter tho(rightfully so,looks SOOOOOOOOOOOO good)
