The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Any idea roughly how many books there are, and best place to buy them?
I read the books three times, first time when I was 13, so yeah I have some idea..

8 books in total, first two are made of short stories and serve as prequels to the novel saga, which has 5 books. Then there is one extra book that takes place in between two of the short stories, but should really be read last due to its epilogue.
Games take place few years after the last novel book.

I didn't read the books in english though, so cannot vouch for the quality of translation.

I would find the show decent - like 6/10 - if I never read the books. But it was supposed to adapt them, and does horrible job of it - to the point where Henry Cavill, huge Witcher book/game fan, decided to leave the project. And no wonder.

The only reshade I ever used was to remove the excessive yellow sun filter in Toussaint. Looked amazing, imho (shots from my 2016 playthrough):

Worth noting that whilst I now have the first Toussaint quest in the main quest list, I have not actually been there yet!
That screenshot above is from Toussaint. Did you go there and then reload older save?

Anyway, I really recommend not going there until you finish the main game and Hearts of Stone.

Is this fight in the Witcher?
It was released as a trailer for the game before it was released, but it actually makes story sense only after finishing Blood and Wine and takes place after it.

best video game trailer ever made - "A night to remember"

It really is brilliant. I get chills every time I watch it. I wish the books were adapted by CDP in this quality, in CGI, with voice actors from the games playing their characters.

Not like that netflix abomination.

Can confirm the RT shadows are fixed and performance is better on both CPU and GPU.
In Novigrad (CPU) I no longer drop to 40s and 30s with RT enabled, it mostly keeps 60.
In a dense forest (GPU) I can now use DLSS balanced instead of performance and still keep 60.

Impressed tbh, I did not expect them to get this ancient version of the engine to run well with RT.

I expect BG3, Starfield and Phantom Liberty to very well satisfy my RPG cravings.

Although they did just get satisfied with Jagged Alliance 3, so good.

There are so many great quests one could write a book about them.

Hunting Ice Troll in Undvik
Throwing baby into an oven
Carnal Sins
Bloody Baron
Talking Roach
Entirety of Hearts of Stone
Drinking at Kaer Morhen

..I could go on.

That is actually a kind of disadvantage to have such great, memorable quests, because I want to replay Witcher 3 but I still remember too much of it despite last playing it 7 years ago in 2016.

I tried the HalkHogan HD Texture pack, all 12GB.

My framerate died. It needs more than 16GB RAM so in Novigrad, my RAM gets filled up and then framerate goes into 40s. Oh well, textures already look good in the base enhanced version.

Why 'should' he have disabled displaying them?
Because the exploration feels more natural and fun when you stumble upon things by exploring instead of running from marker to marker like in ubisoft game, and it lets you focus more on actual sidequests.
